You dont have a lot of choices in Newport so I checked the reviews and decided on this hotel. I travel for work so I stay in hotels weekly.
Overall, it was nice.
Nice staff and very friendly.
The hotel is a few years old and if they continue with the level of maintenance it will show signs of wear very quickly.
I can tell when the hallways and rooms are not vacuumed regularly (yep, I'm OCD) and they are not.
They get a lot of bugs (mountains nearby) around the property that can be seen in the corners when you open doors from the side or entering through the lobby.
The housekeeping staff doesn't report regular broken items to them so I did. Such as the office chair in the room, the drapes coming off the track, power outlets out, light bulbs needing replacement, etc.,
The fitness room is tiny with no free weights and 3 machines.
The pool area is always busy and you can smell it on the first floor with all the wet feet coming/going from this area.
Overall, it wasn't bad. Your best bet in Newport.More
