Bus trip stop. The food was bland with little seasoning. The Chicken Fried Steak tasted like it had been pressered not fried and the chicken was no better.I would not eat there again.

Dear twggl,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to review Mama's after your recent visit. I'm not sure if there are any specific dishes you didn't care for? Our family (we are a small, local, family-owned company) developed the recipes for these dishes based upon the cooking of my father-in-law's great grandmother's ("Mama") cooking and I can assure you they are all full of seasoning. Not only that, but we practice and practice until we get them just right. Not only that, but the Country Fried Steak (when it's prepared properly) is amazing...my favorite thing on the menu. It seems we may have slipped up on that one during your visit and, for that, I'm truly sorry. Please consider giving us another shot. I know you'll be happy you did and should something not be just right, simply let a manager know and they will make it right for you.
All the best in travels and dining.

Lots of food, as advertised, but not as good as we expected. The fried chicken was dark brown and overcooked. The mashed potatoes had a sickly sweet taste, not normally found in mashed potatoes. The meat loaf had an "off" flavor also. The service was good. and efficient, the restaurant clean.
This was the 2nd time we have gone there and had sub par food. I won't be going back there.

Came across this place purely by accident. Was going to eat at the Alamo but it was packed. Saw this place and thought why not? Family style restraunt with good fixins. Staff extremely polite. Food was good. Bad news is it cost kver 90 bucks for 4 adults and the kids ate free (thank goodness). Needless to say, even though the food was good and the staff was nice, the cost is way too high so I wont go back. Too bad too because I likes the atmosphere. I have been to several family style restraunts with 6 adults and not paid over 70 bucks. Sorry ya'll, just can't justify it.

We ate at this restaurant for the first time today. Our experience inside the restaurant was great. Service was friendly and accommodating. The food was great and plentiful. The hash brown casserole, biscuits and pinwheels were excellent. We were all sooooo excited about finding a new place to include on our trips to the Smokies. However, our experience took a turn for the worse when we left the restaurant and were accosted by the vacation club/timeshare salesmen on our way to the car. Talk about ruining the overall experience. They lurked immediately outside the exit door, right between the door and the pathway to the parking lot, so it's impossible to avoid them. They were pushy and almost rather insulting when we were not interested in sitting through their presentation. All we wanted was a good meal and some family time, not to swat off salespeople like bugs in the woods. Although we loved the food and everything about the inside experience at this restaurant, we will never go back so long as they allow these salespeople to harass their guests. It seriously ruined the entire experience.
