We came across this place by accident and so happy we did. Great service, atmosphere and wonderful German brats and homemade fries.

Thank you for a great lunch!

“Small but Powerful”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

Poynor's Pommes Frites is a small specialty restaurant in The Island in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. They serve fries (notice I didn't say "French Fries?") with a wide variety of sauces, Brats with a half-dozen condiment choices, served on a tasty hard bun, and a couple of fun-looking desserts, including "Spaghetti Ice," which is made of ice cream extruded to look like spaghetti, strawberry glaze for the "sauce," and chocolate balls replacing the meatballs. Drinks are bottled sodas and teas. Two orders of fries, two Brats, and a Coke and a tea ran slightly over $26, including tax. A bit high, but the service was efficient and friendly, and the experience was unique. I estimate that the restaurant could seat about 30 customers inside and maybe ten more at the outside umbrella tables. This is not a place that you would eat at during every visit to Pigeon Forge (Unless maybe you were of German heritage and homesick), but it was a nice diversion and we will go back to sample the desserts, as our Brats and fries left us too full on this visit. A couple of suggestions: Since the Brat is long and the bun is round, slice the Brat lengthwise and lay the halves side-by-side on the bun. They give you a plastic knife with your mustards, so put it to use. I put a different mustard on each half and enjoyed the variety. Also, unless you are very hungry, one serving of fries will easily serve two people, cutting your cost a bit.

“Authentic German brats”
Reviewed 7 June 2014 via mobile

My husband was delighted to stumble upon this at The Island in Pigeon Forge TN. Having being raised as an Air Force brat in Germany and returning during his stint in the Army this was reminiscent of the places he ate at overseas. The food is hot and fresh and imported from Germany. Highly recommend.

“Best Fries Ever”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

Great food and friendly staff. We split a large fry between 3 people and two spaghetti ice creams. The sauces came in many flavors and were very good. It's a bit pricey so share when possible. No one in our group of 6 ordered Brats so, I can't comment on them.

“Good Brat and French Fries”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

I stopped for a quick lunch during the week, I had the original brat and fries. The food was good and the service was excellent. This is not a large sit down restaurant, more of a grab your food and sit outside and eat. There are indoor tables if you prefer.
