“Well-appointed cabin in excellent location”
Reviewed 30 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

We just returned from a four-day stay at Happy Trails II cabin in Bear Creek Crossing. Our cabin was lovely--nicely decorated in a mountain theme, overlooking a great view of the mountains, filled with comfortable beds and furniture, and equipped with modern amenities such as DirecTV and a Wii but also low-tech games such as checkers and pool. Our kids also loved hanging out in the outdoor hot tub and rocking and swinging on the back porch. We loved being feeling like we were away in the mountains, but also loved having fairly easy access to the many activities in Pigeon Forge.
The only comment I have for potential renters has to do with the pool table in the loft. When our kids were upstairs playing pool, the noise really carried down into the bedrooms. Our kids are still somewhat young (age twelve and under), so they went to sleep earlier than we did and the noise didn't bother us. I just mention it in case a family wanted to go with teenagers who might want to stay up late playing pool or video games. If so, you may want to bring some earplugs to muffle the sound of the pool balls.
Having said that, I still gave Happy Trails II top marks, because we had a great stay and would go back again in a heartbeat. Our kids agree! By the way, our favorite family activities were riding go-karts at The Track, hiking the Laurel Falls Trail in the Great Smoky Mtns. National Park, and riding Wahoo Ziplines in Sevierville. Lots of fun for the entire family!!

“Renter of Happy Trails”
Reviewed 25 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

I have stayed in all of the Happy Trails cabins many times and each of them are absolutely amazing! The location is great and the amenities are unreal. My kids love the outdoor and indoor pools, the hot tub, game tables upstairs and the ability to watch Netflix!
Thanks to the Abbott's for offering such a great vacation home! Can't wait to return!

“Anniversary Traditions”
Reviewed 24 October 2016 for a stay in February 2016

My husband and I have spent our past five anniversaries at Happy Trails II. We love going in February to Sevierville. Crowds are low, no waiting at the yummiest restaurants, hiking and enjoying the great outdoors is wonderful, and coming home to Happy Trails II and the hot tub is the icing on the cake. We grill at the cabin for most of our dinners, and always feel like we are leaving one home to go back to our normal home. Planning February 2017 now...

“stay once--you'll get hooked!”
Reviewed 9 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We've stayed here before and it is the best rental in the area! We love the location--close to the Parkway but not too close. I love sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee looking out over the mountains. Another location advantage is there is a "secret" back way into the National Park--you can avoid the sometimes crowded Parkway and go directly to some great hiking spots! (the owner can give you the heads up) You are still within a few minutes drive to great restaurants, activities, and grocery stores.

On that note, I have never stayed in a rental that had EVERYTHING WE COULD NEED! Besides being super clean (a huge plus with me), we had everything in the kitchen we needed to prepare a meal or snack (sometimes it was nice to stay in to eat and just relax). A new addition to the cabin since the last time I stayed--bar tools--from the blender to the muddler to the correct wine glass! Oh, and I have to mention the Alewine pottery coffee mugs...just adds an extra "something" to the experience!

The beds are high quality as well as the bedding...definitely important to me. If you like to hike, the hot tub on the deck looking out over the mountains after a long day of hiking...sigh. You get the picture.

Tip: be sure an ask the owners if you need info on the area--a great resource!

Management Response
20 Oct 2016
Thanks for your awesome review of our cabin. I am glad you liked the "little" things we provide to make your cabin experience an awesome event. Our family uses this cabin through out the year, and we want and expect the best, each time we use the cabin too!

We are always looking for ways to improve our amenities. We are currently adding new, high end Holland gas grills for each of our cabins. We never want to rest on our laurels!
