The Dolly Parton statue was dedicated on May 3, 1987 and sits on the lawn of the Sevier County Courthouse in downtown Sevierville. The bronze statue depicts a young Dolly Parton sitting on a rock. Her hair is pulled back away from her face allowing you to see her full smile. She is depicted wearing a pair of rolled up jeans, a 3/4 length sleeve shirt, and has a guitar resting in her lap. She is barefoot with one leg partially curled up behind her other leg. One foot is hidden behind her calf and the other is dangling free over the side of the rock. There is a small butterfly perched on the edge of her guitar as she smiles and clutches the guitar against her chest.
This is a nice tribute to the local Country music icon, who has gone on to spread her wings and expand into so many areas including TV, Movies, Books, Amusement Parks, and MORE. It is worth a peek and it is FREE to visit being situated on the front lawn of the Sevier County Court House. It will only take a few moments to view this attraction and take some photos of you posing with the area's local celebrity.
