“Great place to stay....loved this place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2014

We took our grandchildren on a vacation and stayed in The Resort @Governors Crossing and it was wonderful, had read some bad reviews and they were all false, this place was very clean and beds were very comfortable and our view was perfect. The water park swimming area was really clean and always plenty of towels there if you needed them. We read that people would steal your stuff but we had nothing stolen and the people came in everyday to bring clean towels and to empty our garbage and never bothered one thing that we had. The kitchen was really nice because we always cooked a big breakfast for 8 people every morning. We will surely stay there again because it was so close to everything and the people were super nice to us, give them a try you will not be sorry that you did

Room Tip: 4th floor, king 2bedroom room 2413 is perfect, end of hallway with a great view of the pool

The room we were given to was not the room stated in our itinerary. We went to the front desk asking for this to be fixed and they told us there were no rooms available and we could upgrade to a two room for double the price. They should have just gave us the correct room from the beginning. Also, the second day we were there, our room was not cleaned, we did not receive fresh towels, wash clothes and the trash was not taken out.

Nice, clean, a little more than I like to spend on a room but considering it was a condo work full kitchen, jacuzzi tub, fireplace, etc. The kids enjoyed every minute and slept so good at night after playing so hard during the day. The only thing that kept me from adding that last star wad because there was only 1 pillow per person. I'm used to having 3-4. And they don't leave many towels. Otherwise, awesome stay.

The suites were nothing specatular. I was very disappointed to learn that my suite did not have a balcony which was a main reason I chose this hotel. I was told that I would have to upgrade to a more expensive room and then that there would be no upgrades available during my 7 day stay. The 1st day we were trapped in the elevator coming down from the 4th floor. Every time we left the hotel we took a chance that there would not be any place to park when we returned. On one occasion we had to park at the restaurant next door. The pools were very shallow and mostly geared toward children. We never did find the fitness center that was located in building A. Housekeeping included trash removal and towel replacement only for an entire week. It was an OK place to stay, but I would say that it is not worth the amount of money paid.

Room Tip: If you want a balcony you must reserve a King suite or higher. First floor is best to alieviate elev...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! Please know that our guests’ concerns are of the utmost importance to us and we always investigate every problem that is brought to our attention so that we can better train our staff. We are so very sorry that your room was not to your liking and that we were unable to move you into one that was. When making reservations, guests are welcome to speak with an agent at the hotel directly, this way we can ensure that the room you wish to have is the one that you will get upon checking in. Our elevators are inspected and serviced on a regular basis so that we can detect any potential problems and avoid having any guests inconvenienced. Our parking lot is in the process of being expanded! We are adding 30 additional parking spaces close to the Phase 1 building. Our indoor and outdoor water parks are designed so that families of all ages can enjoy them and we hope that you were able to do so in spite of them only being 3 to 4 feet deep. In the future, when you are unable to locate a specific amenity on the property, please speak with one of our friendly Guest Service Agents and they will be more than happy to assist you. Also, please note that there are maps of the property posted near all of the elevators that will help to point you in the right direction. Lastly, regarding housekeeping, we make every effort to inform all of our guests of our limited housekeeping service. We apologize if this was not made known to you and will use this instance as a training opportunity for all of our staff. We hope that we are afforded another opportunity to show you how important you are to us and wish you a wonderful day!

Staff was very friendly and easy to work with. Pam was super easy to work with and helped us with all our needs. Great place for a group of friends, and an awesome place for families. We hope to return and bring our children. The pool and water log are sure to keep them busy for hours!

Initial thoughts when we pulled up to the hotel were positive, as the water park looked amazing for the kids, which it was, but quickly upon entering the hotel we realized the hotel was slightly worse then a Motel 8. The bathrooms are dated, and belong in a picture highlighting the peak of the 1960's, and the rooms appear they haven't been cleaned since the ice age. What's more troubling is that while on vacation I had my work iPad stolen from the room. With 100's of choices in the area, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. Unless of course, you're willing to donate your personal items to the cleaning crew.

Room Tip: Stay at a different hotel

For those traveling to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/Sevierville area to a vacation and looking to conserve money this is the place to stay. We stayed 5 nights and loved it. Yeah, it was a little more expensive than other hotels in the area, but when you factor in that it had its own water park (not just an undersized pool but 3 slides, a lazy river 2 good sized pools, a couple toddler pools, and 2 hot tubs) plus a small mini-golf area, an arcade and a playground for smaller kids it was worth it. We thought about going to the Dollywood water park initially but our kids preferred to just stay at the house (instant savings of $200 for our family of four that day). From my understanding, all rooms have a full kitchen, which we took full advantage of every day but father's day when my wife, kids and I enjoyed some wings from the nearby Buffalo Wild Wings. There's a Wal-Mart just down the street so you don't have to bring your own groceries. All rooms also have private balconies, which all have decent views of the mountains. Another nice feature was each building has 2 elevators, so it sped up wait times to get an elevator. The five nights we spent there were the five best nights of sleep I've had in a long time. The beds and pillows were awesome. Our floor didn't seem to have anyone that was really noisy (or maybe they were but we didn't notice any noise), so that was a positive
Our only complaint was that we had to wait almost 5 hours for our room to be ready. When we arrived at 11 a.m. (checkout time), I figured our room wouldn't be ready, but to have to wait 5 hours is ridiculous. Why not tell your cleaning staff that a family has already arrived and to clean their room first?
The staff we encountered during our stay were very friendly and were happy to help in anyway.
One piece of advice, try to use Veterans Blvd whenever your traveling to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. It'll save you a ton of time, because 'The Parkway' always seemed to be busy and jammed packed.
Another tip .... if you're headed to Dollywood or to the water park associated with it, go to the Fun Time Trolley Station on Old Mill Rd (or Ave or Blvd). They charge .50 per person per trip and will take you right to the gate of the park you're going to. Dollywood and the water park share a parking lot and they charge $10 to park for the day. So for a family of four, it costs $4 (a savings of $6 per day) to park your car at the trolley station and have them drive you to and from the park each day. Yeah you may have to wait a few minutes for a trolley, but for us the savings of $6 was worth it.

Room Tip: You get an option of picking a pool side room and/or fireplace (penthouse room). We chose a non-pool...
