I ask that you take the time to read the entire review. My family and I have been coming to Pigeon Forge for almost 12 years and we come several times a year and stay at several resorts. This is the fourth stay at Hidden Mountain and we stayed at cabin 4047. The cabin was greatly equipped and served our needs of easy entry to a tee. My uncle has trouble climbing stairs so the flat entry was great for him. The cabin was also large enough for our whole group. There was 10 of us staying. Check in and check out was a breeze and whenever we needed new towels or trash pick up, the staff was always quick and courteous. The pool area was great! My daughter loved the small pools and was intrigued by the waterfall in the big pool area. A few issues. First, when we first entered the cabin we immediately noticed a big ant problem and there was an issue with the A/C. A quick call to the front desk and those problems were addressed. Secondly, when we first arrived the cabin was extremely dirty. There were several small things that never looked like it was cleaned after the prior renters. Another issue when we first arrived, and this may not be a big deal to some, but we had ten people staying with three cars and parking was almost nonexistent. Luckily we were able to use a small gravel lot but it did make it an inconvenience when venturing out. Second, on the website the cabin is listed with a queen sleeper sofa. That is not the case. Although this cabin says it sleeps 12, that is not the case. I know cabin amenities change, but it would have been nice to have known that. This cabin, 4047 Camelot, could use some serious renovations and updates. The decor looked like it was thrown together and no flow. Three of the TV remotes did not work and none of the DVD players were hooked up. Another remote in the upstairs bedroom had batteries that had corroded and were held in by a piece of cardboard and tape. For the price point, I was disappointed.
The one big thing that I have trouble over looking was the second night there, my family decided to use the gas grill to cook dinner and enjoy a night in. This was quickly short lived as the grill caught on fire due to the amount of grease that was in the bottom of it. As I was trying to put out the flames, two of the fire extinguishers did not work. Although there was no damage and no one was hurt, this could have been a serious and dangerous situation. I personally feel that when we called to report what had happened, the front desk did not take the situation as seriously as needed. All in all, the stay at Hidden Mountain was okay. The staff was courteous and the location is great. Would I stay here again? Maybe, but definitely in another cabin.
