“So awesome we had to buy one!”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

We have visited Brother's Cove for the past 12 years and we have stayed in different cabins and each one has been great! We loved it so much that we are in the process of buying one! It is one of the few places where it is secluded, close to the attractions and yet far enough away to know you are in the country. Love the pool and any complaints of the water have been solved as they now have city water!

We really enjoyed our stay at Brother’s Cove. The property is a good 20 minutes from town—perfect if you want to enjoy the beauty of nature but still be relatively close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg attractions.

GROUNDS
Don’t be fooled when you look at a map of the grounds … what appear to be cabins at the back of the property are actually cabins at higher elevations. So be prepared for somewhat steep driving. The worst was actually our driveway: when going up, it felt like we would slide right back down. Fortunately that didn’t happen (though we did burn some rubber when trying to go up the driveway after a heavy rain … we gave up and parked at the base). While the benefit of driving uphill is the view, beware that not all cabins have mountain views, so be sure to look at online photos carefully before booking your cabin.

Also on the grounds is a swimming pool, which is in a lovely natural setting with a gorgeous view of the mountains. It’s not heated, so it was too cold for the adults to take a dip when we visited in early June. (The kids, however, all jumped right in and had a great time.) There’s also a creek that meanders through the property, so it’s a really pretty drive up to your cabin.

ACCESS
The community is gated, which is nice but probably unnecessary considering how few people live nearby. You have to pick up your gate and cabin codes from the American Mountain Rentals office in Pigeon Forge, which is conveniently only 3 traffic lights from the turn for Brother’s Cove. Our gate code never worked … none of the other guests’ did, either. Fortunately someone in the onsite office provided us their personal code, so we were never locked out.

You also get a cabin code rather than a key, so at the end of your stay, you just press the lock button on the door and go home … you don’t need to return a key to the American Mountain Rentals office. Loved this.

CABIN
We stayed in the Bear Track Inn, which was extremely spacious and comfortable for all 8 of us for a week. Lots of seating in the living and dining rooms (the latter seats 8-10 people, depending on age/size, not counting the 4 counter stools). The only smallish room in the house was the kitchen, but it served its purpose.

All 3 bedrooms are masters. The only problem is that there’s no “public” half bathroom, so we kept having to go upstairs to use our bathroom. The bedrooms on the main and 2nd floors were awesome. I would never sleep in the top bedroom, though. The spiral staircase to get to the top floor is very steep and the steps are extremely very narrow. Plus only one wall of windows has blinds (there are windows on 3 sides), so I hope you like getting up at the crack of dawn if you choose this room!

The game room has pool and foosball tables along with several board games and puzzles. The spiral staircase sometimes got in the way of taking pool shots, but since we were just playing for fun, it was OK.

Plenty of towels and washcloths were provided; also provided were dishwasher liquid, trash bags, some toilet paper, and some very small bars of soap. Be sure to bring or buy paper towels, sponge and dish soap (for hand washing pans), soap for your shower, and extra toilet paper. You can also bring laundry detergent, as the cabin has a stackable washer and dryer.

At first we had a problem with plumbing—very little hot water and virtually no water pressure. I knew there was no way I would be able to wash my hair. But I was impressed: when I called those issues in, property management fixed both right away (the hot water within the hour, the water pressure the same morning).

Bear Track Inn has a partial mountain view … you mostly see trees and the mountains are behind them. The in-laws stayed at Passion’s Peak (a one-bedroom cabin a steep hike down the hill) and had a gorgeous mountain view. But ours was still a great view to have from the hot tub or porch swings.

Overall, we recommend!

Brother's Cove is a terrific place to stay! We loved our cabin and their staff is the best. The cabin was very private and you are truly staying "in the mountains." We have rented with other companies, but Brother's Cove will now be our first choice. You will not be disappointed with them!

This property is probably one of the best in brothers cove it has so much to offer! The grounds are beautiful, a mountain stream runs right past the cabin, you can listen to it bubble while having an evening campfire in the fire pit. The many small trails and bridges throughout the property were awesome too. The house doesnt have a "view" but you won't really care. I'd rather have more space to be outside than a view. If you need to experience the "view" it's just a short drive up the mountain. This property would be ideal for winter since there are no steep grades to get to this cabin. The porch was amazing with huge rockers, a tv, grill and hot tub. You really don't need to go inside!! The interior was nicely decorated (fall and Halloween theme for us) a huge flat screen in the living room and newer furniture. The wifi in the cabin saved us since there is little to no cell service in the area! The kitchen is newer with all the pots and pans we needed to make all of our meals. The bedrooms were a little on the small side with a huge soaking tub in both, but we really only used the bedrooms for sleeping so the size really didn't matter. The bathrooms were also on the small side, it was kind of difficult for 4 people to try and share those small spaces trying to get ready in the mornings. My only complaint about the whole place is that it could use a really good cleaning there were many stains on the upstairs carpet, it was quite dusty in places, and the bathrooms smelled like old urine. I am very picky when it come to things being clean and those few things wouldn't stop me from staying there again or encouraging someone else to enjoy this cabin!!

We stayed in Brothers cove 1 time and that's all it took. the way the builder left all the trees and didn't build cabins on top of each other made this areas special. The views and natural surroudings were National Park Like. So after staying in Bear Paw Trail, We just went and bought the cabin. The on site rental company does and execellent job of caring for guests. Were very happy with our purchase and love to visit #15 Bear Paw Trail.

My wife and our three sons’ stayed at the cabin #46 “Perfect Peace”, December 27th - January 1st, 2012, the views from this cabin are the absolute best! This was our second trip to the Pigeon Forge area (stayed on the east side of town last year) and this was our first time at Brothers Cove. This area is a little further out from Pigeon Forge but we preferred it (away from the traffic in Pigeon Forge). The staff were very, very friendly. No problems checking in or with the codes as some others said. The cabin was clean, very roomy and kept up. It has some visible wear around the cabin (on the outside railing wood and porches mostly) but nothing really out of the norm or really unattractive (and the upper level windows could still use a cleaning). The pool table was also angled weird so as to let the sleeper sofa to be pulled out if used, but it was a constant worry that the kids would crack the window with a pool stick. The hot tub overlooking the view was great. The Christmas decorations and tree already at the cabin added a nice touch. Be prepared for the steep ride up in your car to the cabin, it’s not for the faint of heart, but you’ll get used to it after the first time. Overall a wonderful experience, although we did miss the snow like we saw in 2010! We’ll for sure be back in December this year.

We visited Brothers Cove Oct. 7-11, 2011. We rented the cabin called "TreeTop Oasis". It truley is a treetop oasis! The views were majestic!! It was so peaceful, quiet and relaxing. The cabin itself was well maintained and beautiful. We didn't have any issues at all. We enjoyed the hot tub everynight. The fireplace on the porch was amazing. In the morning we sat out there with the fire going, as well as in the evenings. We can't wait to visit again!
