“A must stay-Beautiful and Peaceful”
Reviewed 27 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

The views of the mountains were spectacular and the home was perfect for all 14 of us. Two kitchens, a Hot Tub, a Pool Table and easy to get to Gatlinberg and Seiverville. Perfect for our very large family!

So glad you enjoyed our home. The view of the Smokies was the reason we choose it.

“Perfect mountain retreat for family gatherings!”

This was the perfect mountain retreat for our family reunion over spring break. We had 13 people staying in the cabin, and there was plenty of space for everyone. 2 adults in the first floor king master, 2 adults in the first floor queen bedroom, 2 adults in one basement king bedroom, 2 adults in the second basement king bedroom, and 5 kids in the loft (2 queen and 2 single beds). It was amazing! Everyone was comfortable and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the loft. The hot tub and pool table were great. The location is a short drive to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of town. You will feel like you are in a secluded mountain getaway. The views were wonderful from morning until night. We will be back!!! Thanks Barbara for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!

“Christmas Holiday”

My siblings and I wanted to spend Christmas together with all our families. We stayed in this chalet over Christmas. It was a beautiful cabin with the best view. It was roomy enough for everyone it sleeps up to 14. It was up the mountain a bit, on narrow roads which scared us a bit driving to town at night, but other than that it was perfect. The owner was great at responding to my questions promptly. We will definitely try to stay here again.

So glad our home created a Christmas memory. I was scared of driving up a mountain first time I went. I was from New Orleans and we didn't even have hills. But once I got used to it , I could zip those up 8 blocks easily and it was worth it for the view.

“Amazing View”

The cabin was amazing. It was clean, up to date appliances and bathrooms. The bedrooms were big and had plenty of storage. The hot tube was on the very bottom deck which could only be accessed by going outside on the level above. This was a little inconvenient but it did give a lot of privacy while in the hot tub. The view was amazing every morning my breath was taken away.

The one drawback I found was getting to the cabin. The road is gravel at times and very narrow with 3 very sharp turns. I had a large Ford F150 truck and as long as we went slow everything was fine.

I will be renting this cabin again next year if it is available.

We are so glad you enjoyed our home.We love the fact that cars can be parked directly in front instead of having to go down a thin path to park. Since Shagbark is a 1300 acre gated wild life preserve the rode up the mountain (8 blocks) does wind as it goes around the mountain.,That is so that it would not be too steep as it goes up.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 20 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

I rented this Chalet for five days this past week end. Everything was as advertised and more.
As this Chalet is nearing the top of the mountain, the view is nothing short of breathtaking.
We had Family up for a reunion ( 14 people) and everyone was impressed. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep.
The highlight of the stay was the visit of a Black Bear that wanted some attention. He reminded me of Burbon Street and the (Throw me something mister) line as he would stand up straight and wave for something. A sight one will will remember for a life time.
I would recommend this Chalet Mignon One to anyone, anytime
The only downside was a Car Show in Pigeon Forge that caused a traffic jam that precluded any real visit to Gatlinburg. Bummer for the Kids!

So glad your extended family enjoyed our home. Frank and I ran into a traffic jam returning from Gatlinburg one time because of the car show. We have learned you can go through the back entrance of the park (in Wears Valley) & avoid Pigeon Forge completely . We turn right (instead of left to Pigeon Forge) on Wears Valley Rd. We take a left at the park entrance and drive through the park to enter Gatlinburg from the park side. Its a beautiful ride, not lengthy and avoids Pigeon Forge when it is hosting big events . We also take this route to visit the park which has so many waterfalls & beautiful views.Your family may enjoy the Island in Pigeon Forge which is new and offers rides for the kids & shops like those in Gatlinburg.

When we picked the Chalet, we were so excited, that we could just look out the windows and see the Smoky Mountains. What amazes us is that no matter what the weather the views were beautiful .The view constantly change as the day progresses and different looks are created. We are originally from New Orleans where the only Hills we saw were levies. Our first trip to Tennessee amazed us. We are so glad your family enjoyed our home and hope you will return..
