The hotel is perfectly situated, when walking through the quaint surrounding village I had the feeling of being on an island rather than main land. The hotel facilities are superb, with many unexpected additions. I stayed with my boyfriend in a Premium Double Room with Sea View. We opened the door to the room and immediately felt relaxed. Our day was spent sun bathing and swimming in the sea. On the evening we walked to the very near restaurants all of which looked good, earlier in the day we read the menu at the hotel restaurant and made the decision to eat there, the food was delicious, fresh, very well presented and served to us by a waiter who genuinely wanted my boyfriend and I to enjoy our meals. We had an excellent stay and will plan a overnight visit to the hotel in our next itinerary. My boyfriend is Greek and now lives in London, I am British we travel and dine out quite often. Almira Hotel is the best hotel we have stayed in this year. I will be recommending the hotel to friends when we return home.

The hotel is rather new, opened in 2011, and offers nicely furnished rooms with comfortable beds. It is conveniently situated right at the beach.
As many other hotels, it has problems with the sound proofing. E. g. we could hear all night the a/c fan of a neighbouring room, the coughing of a lady nearby and in particular, the doors only close with a loud noise, which you can hear across the entire corridor. If you have a good sleep, you probably don't mind that.
We also had a bit of a difficulty with the Wifi, as in this hotel, you needed to register at a wifi hotspot. However, the registration site was programmed in such a way that either it didn't open itself (we used http://1.1.1.1 to manually force the page to appear), and on another device, it could not display the page due to some incompatibilities, which consequently meant that we could connect that device to the internet. All other hotels had a much simpler (and less error prone) way by connecting directly with a passwort.

We booked this on the internet having no idea about the area or the hotel. We had just finished a cruise to Athens and were en route to meet friends on the Peloponnese Peninsula. We couldn't believe our luck to have found this great hotel in a lovely little town. It was exactly what we wanted for a couple of days, relaxation by the sea. Our room was a good size but sadly we were not offered a room with a sea views but that could have been because we were late bookers and the hotel seemed full; it was the weekend. It was great to have the hotel also serve dinner and snacks during the day. The quality of food was good and there was lots of choice at breakfast time. We wished we could have stayed longer and I would certainly return the next time we are in Greece.

Room Tip: Choose one with a sea view if available.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay in the Almira Hotel and it was really excellent. The hotel is small, new and has a great location right on the beach. If you do not need the efficient air conditioning, then you can wake up to the sound of waves lapping on the shore.
We had a deluxe room with a great view of the beach. It had a jacuzzi but we did not use it as that was not worth the extra cost, given the pool and beach. As people have mentioned the beds are very comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel has free wifi, which worked well on the balcony and in the public areas of the hotel but less well inside our room. The hotel also has a small gym, which I used regularly. Finally, the hotel was very clean and the rooms were cleaned everyday and we had our sheets and towels changed regularly during the stay.
Arkoudi is a lovely village and the beach is nice. The beach would suit young children well as it slopes very gently. The hotel has a nice pool. Arkoudi has mainly Greek families plus some German and Russians. We seemed to be the only British people around. We were quite happy with this and staff in the hotel and restaurants etc mostly could speak English. The food in the hotel is nice, but there are are many nice restaurants in the village. The best was the Restaurant Elia, which is at the edge of the village but really worth finding.
There are many good things in the area. We walked to the Roman baths at Kyllini and drove to Chlemoutsi castle and ancient Olympia. Chlemoutsi was a real surprise, as it was a wonderfully preserved Crusader castle, only a few kilometers away. Ancient Olympia was very good. It is hard not to be impressed by the place where the Olympic games started and the stadium is really evocative. But do not miss the museum as that is full of really wonderful finds from the site and really is almost better than the site itself.
So we loved our stay at the Almira and will hopefully return.

I stayed there for a night only, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay and most of all sleep!
they have spent quite a bit of money on the quality of the mattresses and generally on all materials. We got there late afternoon and we got upgraded as we got a top floor executive room (with jacuzzii , did not use) as there a cancellation.
Do try and get a room overlooking the beautiful bay of Arkoudi, with views of Zante and Kefallonia.
All in all a great stay. The food was very good and the staff attentive and professional. They speak quite a few languages too.
Will return.

Room Tip: go for the daily specials, you won't go wrong. try cocktails at the beach side bar called RQD.

The hotel was super right on the beach, lovely pool, great atmosphere, good breakfast and the dinners we had at the hotel were top quality. On departure I left Jacket there and they went out there way to see it was posted back to me in the UK. We will be returning. :-)

Room Tip: Book a seaview
