This lodge came recommended by a two friends. It is a nice quiet area. The lodge building is in sort of a Montana-high country style but shows some signs of wear w/ chipped paint on the door - little things that could be fixed easily. Our cottage had a large bed w/ a desperately soft mattress and a relatively tiny bathroom given the size of the cabin and the fact that there is a jacuzzi tub in the sitting area. I could have done w/ a larger bathroom that enclosed the tub but i guess the point was to have it near the fireplace. Fireplace was great and there were plenty of dry logs at our disposal.
We enjoyed dinner in the lodge and service was very attentive. Also liked being able to get into the hot tub that was on the back deck of our cabin.
What I didn't like was the fact that I realized when I got home that I had inadvertently left a pair of valuable (both monetary and sentimental) earrings on the bedside table. I called immediately and though it was the same day we had checked out the gentleman (who had shown us to our table and recommended our wine) acted as though he didn't remember me. He said that the would have housekeeping check and let me know if the earrings had been found. No call the next morning (Monday) so I called that afternoon. This time the front desk person said our room would be cleaned that day (Monday) and someone will call you if they find them. I again repeated that the earrings were valuable.
I called again that evening and left a message and have still not receieved a call back.
It seemed to me as though the staff were neither sympathetic or interested in trying to see if the earrings were there. This is not a large property so it would seem like someone could have simply walked to the cabin after my first call and looked for the earrings, especially if the room was not cleaned until Monday.
I am still hopeful that they will find these earrings and call.
