Nice campground but the sites are not level- many lacking gravel which needs to be replaced and grated. Weeds in the sites coming through the gravel and Many fire ants and hills all over the campground. My dog had bites on her paws from walking through the grass. Extreme lack of boat slips- only 16 and none available to rent even though they were all empty. They are all reserved by the seasonal campers and manager. Considering this campground is owned and operated by the TRDA it severely needs some upkeep, lawn mowing, weed and ant extermination and a suitable and large enough dock for the boats. If they expect you to keep your boat on a trailer parked in your site then they need to add some gravel to make adequate room for this and re-consider their rules of only 2 vehicles per site as a boat can take up to two spots dependent upon size of your boat. They strictly enforce no parking on the grass- even if its just one tire. The rules also state no golf carts permitted- yet many of the seasonal sites had them. Interesting that these rules only apply to certain visitors.
