“Incredible stay”

My mom and I came to the Smokies to hike this Spring and stumbled over the Chilhowee Inn by chance, planning to stay one or two nights. We ended up staying six nights because we had such a wonderful experience. It was the perfect mixture of privacy and hospitality and was the most perfect place to come back to after days of 8-12 mile hikes. Can't recommend it highly enough! If you are in the area forget Gatlinburg! Come stay at "the peaceful side of the Smokies".

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent! Bit in some the bathroom, though private, is across the hall. It makes...

This is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast on Old Walland Road on the river. It is an old historical inn that has been lovingly restored by John and Carolyn and beautifully infused with their own family history. They are attentive and friendly host that love doing what they do and it shows. The rooms are warm and comfortable. Each room has its own special story. Breakfast is simply great home cooking that varies each morning. Fresh fruit, omlettes, quiche, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and grits. I am sure there is more. We were never disappointed. When you go to dinner, skip dessert. There will be one waiting for you when you get back to the Inn. Spend the morning before breakfast and the evening before bed rocking on the porch and enjoy the hosts and other guests. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Donna Belle. Nice view of the river across the road.

We loved this area and this wonderful B & B. It is really out in the country in a very quiet spot next to the river. The owners were so hospitable and friendly. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. We loved sitting on the porch in the evening watching the fireflies and chatting with the owners. The breakfast was delicious and more than ample! We were surprised to be greeted in the evening with dessert after our arrival. This is a charming place. The history is amazing to read about as you lounge in the dining area. Lots of TLC has been given to this incredible building.

John and Carolyn achieve the perfect balance of comfort, privacy and hospitality at their beautiful historical inn. The inn is beautifully appointed and very clean. The river and scenery just add to the over all impression of a relaxing atmosphere in a peace filled location. We so enjoyed visiting with them and staying at their inn. Breakfast was filling, fresh and delicious and lasted our entire drive home, back to Alabama. We are looking forward to a chance to return and visit with John and Carolyn again soon. Chilhowee Inn is a great experience that shouldn't be missed.

My DH and I are drawn to places that are near the activity but far enough away to be restful. Chilhowee Inn fits that bill. We are Knoxvillians who love the mountains but dislike the commercialism of Sevier County. The peaceful side of the Smoky's is where we gravitate to. CI is just that. It sits along side the little Pigeon River in a picturesque location. The Bravo Award for landscaping is well deserved. John and Carolyn are gracious hosts. I hope we can carve out time for another weekend at this delightful B&B. A bit of history, comfy accommodations and a rambling river all make for a wonderful stay.

This historical Inn has a welcoming atmosphere and wholesome spirit about it. The owners, Carolyn and John Pullias, make you feel comfortable and welcome. They are knowledgeable about the area. SItting on the front porch over the river and listening to the evening sounds is very relaxing. The rooms are pleasant, comfortable and immaculately clean. Close to Cades Cove and the National Park as well as the shops in Wears Valley.
