“Fantastic quiet getaway”

A wonderful rustic mill beside a waterfall gives a perfect place to relax. The B&B is serene with only a small tv in rooms for watching videos, no internet, and no cell phone reception. Breakfast was casual while we were there but the company exceptional. Close restaurants down the road and Lynchburg a great day trip. Planning a return when the stress of life becomes intense.

Room Tip: The loft is wonderful and spacious with a balcony (very limited view of the falls). One of the room...

I don't know where to start! We have been to many 4/5 star hotels and B & B's and this place was by fair the best ever - such a hidden jewel, a piece of paradise - I didn't want to leave and already planning our return! John and Mildred are special people and this is a special place. Words can't desribe it you must see it for yourself! But now this is an older place its not new or fancy - it is full of history and old charm which I loved!

Spent Labor Day weekend with John and Mildred at the Mill, very enjoyable and relaxing time, We enjoyed the historical aspect of the mill, but most enjoyed the Spear's story as how they came to own it..."I'll take it... How much is it..." said John. Hope to return soon.

We are so thankful that John and Mildred Spear decided to keep Ledford Mill as a b&b when they purchased it. This was our first time visiting and we can't wait to go back. We stayed in the Falls room, which is the most romantic, and we had the entire mill to ourselves since it was a week day! It was the most peaceful and relaxing night we have ever had. Laying in bed watching and listening to the falls was amazing! Breakfast was delicious and our hosts were very warm and friendly and made us feel right at home. Even "Tom Cruise" the cat made us feel welcome. If you enjoy nature, peace and relaxing comfort, this is the place you want to be! Already planning our next visit for the fall!

Room Tip: Falls room has full view of the waterfall and is the most romantic. Creek room is very spacious with...

My wife and I are annual fans of the local phenomonon known as the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration. Someone recommended several years ago that we try the Ledford Mill. Fearing there would be no vacancy, I tried and was able to get a room. We have stayed there every year since. We stay in the "falls" room. The accomodations are rustic, but so are we! John and Mildred are remarkable people and have become great friends of ours. They are so accomodating, but yet we have the freedom expected at a B&B. Mildred is a fabulous cook, and I thought Kentucky was the only place where okra was served for breakfast! There is not enough space in this little box for me to tell all the great experiences we've had at the Ledford Mill. Get yourself down there and you won't regret it!!!!!!!

Room Tip: This is an old grist mill. Its not for the prissy! It has three levels to accomodate a variety of gr...

Recently a friend (Cary Ledford) and I (Gerald LeBlanc) took a trip to Tennessee and the Ledford Mill was one of the places we planned on staying but ended up being a destination. We thought the "Loft Room" was so comfortable being furnished with antiques, and we are planning a return trip to the mill for several days our next time. We hope to get the loft room again. John & Mildred Spear were wonderful and "Tom" the cat was a delight as well. John explained all aspects of the mill to us and showed us around the whole mill and Mildred prepared us a truly dleicious country breakfast the following morning. We shared coffee with some other guests that was there on a second or third trip themselves.

Room Tip: These people make you feel like you are family and the sound of the waterfall is soothing...

We have come to love Bed & Breakfasts. This one is great. Bulit in 1884 and on the National Register of Historic Places and on the Tennessee Heritage Trail, you get the charm of the Mill, the gracious hospitality of John & Mildred Spear, and wonderful breakfasts! All three rooms are furnished with antiques. The Loft Room has a clawfoot tub and a modern shower. It also has a "Grandma Room" with two twin beds. The Loft Room balcony overlooks a waterfall. The Falls Room.opens onto the garden and the falls. The Creek Room has a dbl bed and a gas fireplace. The main floor houses the Breakfast Room and the antique store. All the rooms have central heat and air (with fireplace or electric heat for winter). The Mill pond has large "pet" trout, bass and carp. Only a short drive to Shelbyville and Tullahoma with their restaurants. Jack Daniels and George Dickel distillaries are nearby for day trips. Wonderful place for relaxing amd romance! Our 9 yearold granddaughter loved it!

Room Tip: Loft room is quieter when door to balcony is closed. Falls and Creek rooms have the soothing waterfa...
