I don't know very much about this hotel as I have not stayed there, because my grandmother lives near by. I travel a lot for work and pleasure so I know finding a safe place to lay your head at night is important. That was a difficult task for me tonight traveling through Kansas.... Trust me, I understand.
Parkers crossroads/ Wildersville is a safe little area. Eat at Baileys which is the restaurant on the right at the blinking light- awesome hamburgers! It's always filled with locals (usually farmers in from the field, don't judge their clothing... They've been herding cattle or planting corn) and the waitress will talk to you like she's known you for years.
Get gas at I-mart, the gas station on the other side of the road from baileys (at the blinking light)! Those farmers at Baileys just came from there... =)
Like I said, I've not stayed at this hotel, but if your fear of safety with small town areas is the reason why you're planning to go on by... I can tell you, I do not feel unsafe there. And I am the type that locks every doorknob.
