Brett and Jil are the best host and hostess! The Cowboy cabin was clean, comfortable, and fun. We loved the photos on the walls of old tv western stars. The setting was beautiful, with wild deer and ducks grazing around the yard. We enjoyed helping feed the animals-horses, donkeys, longhorn cattle, and especiallyJaxon the bull . Our breakfast was wonderful-Alsatian sausage with chopped tomatoes and peppers; fried potatoes with cheese, and scrambled eggs collected the previous afternoon from the ranch chickens. Brett is a wealth of information. We learned much from him about the ranch, water rights, the differance between ranchers and cowboys, etc. We felt so at home as we visited with him and Jil. It was hard to leave as we drove off with a hand-drawn map of the hill country towns. As Brett said, we came as strangers and left as friends.

From our greeting with the Canadian Flag to the friendly hospitality from Bret and Jill we felt right at home! Our Cowboy cabin was really personal with all the details and the little extra that included a stocked fridge and the TV DVD playing a western movie. The cabin is spotlessly clean and the bed is very comfortable. You are in the country and this includes roosters, donkey's and birds so if you are a light sleeper run the fan on low for white noise. The breakfast served in the the morning was so delicious and we enjoyed our visit with Brett and Jill. They are wonderful hosts and you can't go wrong with staying here for an authentic Texas stay. Bandera is the place to visit when looking for a western experience that is the real thing. Our evening was topped off after a great meal at the OST and the most memorable honky tonk the Silver Dollar across the street. Our stay can be worded "This is Texas" Thanks so much for all the tips and your time to make us feel special Brett and Jill!

we stayed at the cowboy cabin for 2 nights - great little cozy cabin. A friendly cat greeted us on our cabin porch when we arrived and the Canadian flag was flying in our honour. We got to help feed the animals (long horn cattle, donkeys, chickens) after eating the wholesome and tasty breakfast they served. As we drove away we said "Great experience eh!

We have just returned to the UK following the most wonderful trip to Texas and a truly fabulous stay with Brett and Jil. The Texans, especially in the small towns, were so gracious and welcoming, but none more so than Brett and Jil and their extended family. The accommodation was just wonderful, the breakfasts delicious and plentiful, the grounds beautiful and brimming with deer, cats, dogs, longhorn, goats, ducks and more, and the hosts were unbeatable. It was just perfect to arrive to deer prancing across the grass in front of us, like a scene from Snow White, and we loved sitting on the swing under the great live oak, staring at the creek and enjoying the lovely November weather. Climbing Fossil Hill and hunting for specimens was a must, and simply hanging out was just so restorative. Brett and Jil couldn't have been warmer - so welcoming and generous with their time, resources and company. Really, this is the best B&B we have ever visited. And though everything I've mentioned was just wonderful - it was the people that made the trip. Thank you so much for giving us such a special experience that we'll never forget. We'll think of you every Thanksgiving, and be thankful for having experienced your grace and hospitality.
