I have been renting multiple rooms for a golf tournament in Bastrop for six years. My reservation ranges from 14 rooms to 9 rooms (for two days); and the hotel staff helps me up until the last minute. The staff is helpful and flexible. The price is right for our needs. Beds are comfortable, bathroom fixtures have been updated, continental breakfast is better than OK. This is not a four star hotel; but the price fits the accomodations. It works for our needs. We keep returning each October; and I plan to book rooms for Oct 2013 also.

Had a conference to attend in Austin. Decided to go a little further out to save on hotel room. This one was half the price of our original hotel in Austin with larger rooms, cleaner, and nicer staff. A real pleasant surprise. Traffic was challenging in the morning getting into Austin, but worth the drive out.

This was the Cleanest hotel I've been in. Someone obviously takes a lot of PRIDE in the details and cleanlinest of the rooms. I so appreciated that. The furniture is old, but very nice family staff, Stayed in 201 with three double beds and plenty of room. Super crisp white linens and nice towel. The shower was large and great water pressure. Loved that we could park the car very close to the room. Easy check-in, Quiet and peaceful. Didn't eat breakfast, but hear it is good.

Room Tip: Stayed in 201, which had 3 double beds and didn't seem very crowed. Great for families, especia...

I'm writing this brief review after eating a very nice complimentary breakfast with dad. Oatmeal, sausage biscuits, fresh waffles (in the shape of Texas!!), GREAT fresh Folgers coffee, 4 varieties of Kelloggs cereals, bagels (with REAL Philadelphia cream cheese), fresh white or whole wheat bread, assorted danishes... who could ask for more? Very convenient location, very clean rooms and exceptionally warm staff. Checked in an hour early yesterday after a 4 1/2 hour flight with dad and the front desk staff was extremely accomodating with the early arrival. Still have another 3 nights to go here but really wanted to get my thoughts on this property posted as soon as I could.

Room Tip: Just let the front desk know what you are looking for and they seem very willing to meet your reques...

My girlfriend and I stopped for the night after leaving from work on a motorcycle trip from Houston to hill country in SW Texas. Understand, on trips like this I don't have high expectations. My criteria are simple: a shower that gets me clean and a bed that lets me sleep through the night. And cheap. Occasionally, I am pleasantly surprised by an experience that is really nice. The Days Inn in Bastrop far exceeded our modest expectations, and we will definitely stay again when we have the occasion.

This was my girlfriend's first trip of more than 10 or 20 miles on the back of a bike, and by the time we stopped in Bastrop we had gone 130 miles in around two and a half hours. This is after she worked a full day at the office. When we got there, rather than being exhausted she was pumped up with the excitement of her first road trip. We didn't want to push it, though, since it was after 9:00 and getting dark. The Days Inn was the first place we saw in Bastrop, and when we stopped it looked clean and cheap. We decided to look for food and maybe a bottle of wine to wind down and talk about the trip in front of us.

The guy working at the front desk of the Days Inn was professional, relaxed, friendly, and extremely helpful and kind. He gave us the menus for a few pizza places that delivered along with his recommendation. He told us that we could go in town to find a beer store, but that the gas station next door had a few simple selections. We ended up sharing a quart of Corona Familiar from the gas station and had Pizza Hut delivered. Nothing fancy, but it was good and easy.

We didn't initially notice that the beer required an opener. Back in the room, we frustratedly began to brainstorm how we could open it without breaking the bottle and spilling any precious drops. (On top of cursing ourselves for not having brought our own.) Well, no need for that. Another quick trip to the front desk, and the night clerk was very happy to loan us a bottle opener.

I don't mean to go on like it was a 5 star hotel, but it was definitely a five star experience at a good, clean motel with friendly staff. The room was large, well-lit, comfortable, and neatly furnished with matching furniture, a surprisingly decent television, and an ample refrigerator. What we came for were showers to get us clean and beds that let us sleep until the morning. That was a given, and everything else was a bonus.
