We just loved Bastrop. We really only visited by accident as we were in the area to visit acquantences. The museum as great - looked tiny from the outside but a veritible tardist on the inside - huge amount of info. The film was great. They are in the process of moving to newer premises - which is a shame in a way as the property had atmosphere! So many properties to take in. Lovely atmoshpere. The Chamber of Commerce very helpful. The Library helpful too, as we needed access to the internet. Beware of where you stay if looking for a B&B. We had hoped to stay at The Magnolia Inn on Main St. It looked lovely from the outside and the website looked even better. We tried to book but, not surprisingly, they were fully booked. We ended up somewhere which wasn't so nice.
