This is an old hotel but they are redoing it. It is clean. The staff is awesome. Love the daquari shack in the back. The husband and wife team that manages are wonderful and everyone is very helpful. I would stay here again if in Big Spring, Texas.

To be fair, this motel is undergoing major renovations, and will probably be up to Choice Hotel (parent chain of this brand) standards in a few months. For now, though, I would give it a pass.

There is no pool, only construction plastic around the perimeter. The exterior is run down, and is in the process of being repainted. The interior furniture is new, but the carpet was so dirty that my bare feet were black after walking on it.

The neighborhood is run down, and there is a derelict motel right next door with broken windows. Half of the shopping center behind the motel is empty. Neither of these things is the fault of the motel, but still creates an unappealing atmosphere at the motel.

On the up side, the front desk day person, Bobby, was very friendly and helpful. I asked if he knew when Big Spring State Park opened, and he provided a state park guide book, maps, and info. He also told me I could not get close to the "Big Spring" due to construction, which saved me a side trip and frustration.

Good place to stay. The occupation of most everyone here is oil field related. It is an older hotel but has been upgraded and feels and looks new. Good , safe place to stay. The residents ar a early to bed and gone a early.

Stayed: April 2017, travelled solo
