Description: A mere 7 miles from the centre of Oxford, in the picturesque village of Fyfield, The White Hart is the ultimate country pub and restaurant. A stunning 15th century chantry, the White Hart is full of history and charm - from the soaring eaves in the Great Hall, to the Minstrel's Gallery and the secret tunnels. The newly refurbished terrace, bursting with flowers and aromatic herbs, now boasts an outdoor kitchen with wood fired pizza oven. Four dining pergolas, each with their own heater, give a magical outdoor dining experience. With a passion for provenance, the kitchen grows much of the restaurant's vegetables in a large kitchen garden and also sources food from the very best local suppliers. Even bread, pasta and ice cream is homemade fresh on site. Frequently changing, the menus rely purely on what is fresh and available, ensuring food which delivers on every level. No wonder they hold 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence!

We recently had the most amazing meal here. The set lunch is excellent value and the cooking and presentation is worthy of a Michelin star.... Its certainly one of the best gastro pubs I've ever eaten at. Well worth a visit.

We visited The White Hart as a stop-off on our way to Cirencester. We contacted the restaurant when we knew we were going to be about half an hour late because of traffic and it was absolutely no problem. We were welcomed by the very friendly staff and service was impeccable. The food was delicious and the ambience delightful. It is just a shame that we don't live closer and will have to wait until we are in the area again to make another visit. We can highly recommend The White Hart.

Had a fantastic meal on our anniversary. Lovely drinks and superb food. Enjoyed pate and goat’s cheese starters, but the onglet steak and halibut mains were really outstanding. Some interesting and different flavours alongside just perfectly cooked meat snd fish. In addition, the staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, efficient and had a good sense of humour. Highly recommended.

We went here to have a meal once and the owners told us to look at the takeaway menu from some place in town to deliver to the pub. But since New Owners took over the place is better and so is the food. The company is great. It is a very small pub but they do have a log fire for those winter nights

Thank you for the 5 star rating Neil. We have had the White Hart for 13 years now and it is quite a big building (an old Chantry House dating back to 1442) so I am not sure this review is for us? Best wishes, Kay and Team.
