“Texas HIE”
Reviewed 18 January 2013

I was very impressed with this HIE! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This was my first visit to Brownfield, TX. The amenities were great! There was a heated pool, good for cold weather, and a gym. I was not able to visit either due to the nature of my visit. Also a continental breakfast in the morning from 0630-0930. There were some scrumptious goodies!
The only down side to staying here was the local area had very little to offer food wise. I only saw a Sonic, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut and a Subway.
The room was very spacious with a small sofa and chair to watch TV, and a sink, microwave, coffee pot and small fridge. It came equipped with paper towels, plastic ware and plates, dish soap and pot holder. The bathroom was very large! nice vanity area and a jacuzzi tub! Lots of hot water! And a king size bed in its own little alcove area.

Room Tip: Find a store in the area or ask if there are other dining options.

Hotel was excellent. Pricing was high because companies like Haliburton use this hotel for their workers and since Haliburton is so rich HIE doesn't need to lower their rates even for long use users. My company asked for a discount rate and was denied because they can keep their rooms full with Haliburton workers and other high-end users. Like I said, this hotel is excellent overall, I just feel that their pricing is high for remote West Texas.

Dear Guest,

Thanks for your comments. We believe our standard pricing is a great value, but we are willing to consider other offers during slower times. We’re a busy hotel with many amenities and many positive reviews, but there are times when we aren’t full and can make allowances. I hope you found us a great value and we look forward to having you with us again soon.

Sincerely,
Hotel Manager

The hotel was clean and neat. We were there for two nights and the breakfast both times was good. The pancake machine was a hoot. We used the workout facility and though it was small, it was adequate. I did like that there was a refrigerator in the room. We used that a lot.

Room Tip: It was a nice hotel to stay in. I would stay there again. There was no resturant, but htere is a Mac...

We spent one night in Brownfield on our way out to New Mexico. This is a surprisingly nice hotel in this sleepy little town. The lady at the front desk was great - very friendly and thorough. We had a room on the ground floor and found it very clean and quiet. It had a workout facility and pool. Breakfast was pretty good in the morning. I don't see myself ever needing to go back to Brownfield but if you're there, this is the place to stay.

The only reason I stayed here is because all the rooms in Hobbs were sold out. Was a little out of route for me, but worth it. Yes, the hotel is a bit pricey. Yes, there are oilfield workers @ the property. But whatcha gonna do? The company is footing the bill, & the oilfield guys don't bite. I was put in a handicapped room on the 1st floor, as all regular rooms were sold out. I prefer the top floor, but no biggie. Room was very spacious, & well appointed w fridge, microwave, etc. There is a McDonald's & Sonic next door, @ that's it within walking distance. Breakfast lady was a little slow in bringing out newer food that had been gobbled up, but she did go table to table making sure that no one got left out. Overall a nice, clean, quiet stay.

This relatively new hotel in Brownfield was a pleasant surprise. Although a bit pricey for the area, it offers immaculate, well appointed rooms, internet service in the rooms as well as a small business center, and a good breakfast. We stayed here one night on each way of a recent road trip between Austin and Albuquerque. One way, we rented a suite, and on the return a regular room. Both rooms were quite large and had a refrigerator and microwave. The "suite" also included a sleeper sofa and a wonderful jetted bathtub. Their primary source of guests seems to be the oilfield workers employed in the current boom. Other than that, there's not much going on in this part of the country, so don't count on much in the way of restaurants.

Room Tip: Suites cost $20 more but have the wonderful jetted bathtub! Odd numbered rooms are off the highway...

We pulled into the hotel on Christmas Eve. The clerk was very nice and accommodated our request to move to a room closer to extended family. The room was clean. The beds and pillows were wonderful.

On Christmas Day, the maid offered to clean our room, but I just asked for the trash to be taken out, hoping that would shorten her work.

The breakfast bar was fully stocked even though there weren't many people eating there.

Checkout accurately reflected the price we were quoted. I found this a nice place to stay in Brownfield and did not have any problems reported by other reviewers.

Room Tip: The even-numbered rooms face the main road.
