“Things must have changed...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 March 2014

I recently moved into the area and was looking for a good Mexican restaurant, but I really hope this is not the best that the BCS area has to offer (as claimed by some earlier reviews). The service was very good, as my server was quite attentive. However, there weren't too many people there (which, for a Saturday evening should have been a warning that something was amiss). I had a chicken burrito, and I must say that I was quite disappointed. The chicken seemed as though it had been frozen, as it was quite dry and the seasoning on it was not quite right. The green chile sauce that was on the burrito was quite salty, and the red sauce that accompanied my chips tasted like V8 with some cilantro swimming in it. All in all, I would say that very little (not even the lettuce that accompanied my burrito) had been freshly prepared. I do not plan to return.

“Not just your typical chain restaraunt Tex-Mex”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2014

This was the first time I had seen molcajetes on a menu locally and they are delicious and very, very satisfying. As other reviewers have noticed, the menu, even the special lunch offerings, is extensive, so if you have someone in your group that is really wanting Tex-Mex they will be OK, but for those wanting to try more adventurous Mexican foods this is a very fun alternative. For those watching calories, they also do a delicious marinated chicken with cilantro and lime that is tender and moist. The quality of the meat in their fajitas is also very good. The decor is very bright and charming, the service attentive and helpful. It is a little hard to spot, being at the end of a strip mall, but it is also at a major intersection of Texas Avenue and Villa Maria making getting there, once you know where it is, quick and easy for lunch

“A true Hidden GEM”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2014

Hidden at the very end of a stip mall is this great little Mexican Restaurant.! I can't say enough about how good the food was and the Service ... which is hard to find in this town. Kevin our waiter was professional, attentive and definitely knows his job. Try the the Shrimp Molcajetes or the Frijatas... can't go wrong with either. Friendly, spacious, fast, clean and delicious!

“delicious Mexican food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2014

Went here with family over the holidays, and their Mexican food was outrageously good. Try one of their signature molcajetes, served in a traditional three-legged pot made out of volcanic rock. The chipotle sauce served in the molcajete will make you cry from happiness.

This place has everything you want out of an unpretentious Mexican joint - friendly service (our server was kind enough to bring out a big sample of mole for everyone to try), cheerful decor, and a menu that will satisfy the pickiest eaters. Great for Tex-Mex newbies or seasoned eaters.
