Owner description: Tejas Rodeo Company is a hidden gem, tucked away in the corner of Bulverde, Texas, just north of San Antonio. There’s fun for the whole family out at Tejas Rodeo! In addition to a live open pro-rodeo produced every Saturday nine months out of the year, we have a steakhouse with an award winning menu, authentic outdoor food and ice cold drinks, a pavilion and stage for live music, and several horse clinics and special events throughout the year. Like what you see? During non-event days, we can host your event! New to the rodeo scene? Don’t forget we have horse boarding facilities and offer riding lessons as well. As our onsite restaurant, Tejas Steakhouse and Saloon, is gaining recognition, we recommend making reservations to ensure you and your party have a guaranteed great time! Rodeos, followed each weekend by a dance with live music, run from March through November every year- “9 months of rodeo, 3 months of rodeo!”

So much fun. Don't miss. Took my 6 year old while on vacation in San Antonio and it was the highlight of our trip!

An excellent dinner at the steakhouse then onto a family friendly rodeo and a dance with a live band. Young and old come together on a Saturday Night! Great times!!!

We decided to have an early Valentine Day dinner to avoid the crowds and decided to try this place. Food was pricey for the simple decor and hard benches w/o padding but steak was good and cooked to our liking. The waiter was nice but his service was very slow. Other tables were served bread but we never were brought any nor asked. Waiter did not offer any dessert, seemed to want us to leave. We were a little puzzled. if you pay for $45 for dinner then why not be a little more accommodating. Anyway, I am leaving this review because they did not offer a website to do so directly to the restaurant. I really doubt we will return.

Can't believe we hadn't been to this great steak place before our initial visit. Great service including help waitstaff knowledgable re different cuts of steak. Perfectly seasoned and excellent taste from local beef suppliers. While not present during the rodeo entertainment, the physical grounds gave us a good visual of what to expect.

We didn't call enough ahead to be able to get a table at their steakhouse this time (really good steaks so highly reccomended) so we settled for some good BBQ at the walk-up window. It was cold out but they had space heaters around and plenty of fire pits to take the chill off while you munch some fire-roasted corn on the cob. Being cold Tejas Rodeo was well-prepared with lots of hot chocolate available for the kids to keep warm while dads can fight the chill with a nice bourbon :-)

Weather permitting there is a mechanical bull and often they have a long horn named Oreo saddled up for pictures or a ride around the grounds.

The main event is the rodeo performance and it is always a great show starting off with their precision riding team the Texas Rough Riders who do a great job getting the crowd going. The announcer does a great job educating kids and yankees about the history of rodeo as their chuck wagon circles the arena. And then it's bull riding time followed by roping, barrel racing, etc. In the middle of the performance is the real crowd pleaser of mutton bustin' for kids 4-7 (you can call earlier to register your kid to compete).

This is a great place for a family night out or to take visitors to give them a flavor of Texas.
