I've lived in the Dallas-Fort area most of my life and have somehow never seen this area of town. I know I've been close to it several times. Anyway, I was highly impressed! A nice little square with a park and gazebo in the middle and lots of shops and a few restaurants all around. Check out the Plaza Theater on one end. It's been converted for use as an event center but they still have some live shows in there as well. As I understand it, more parking is coming for that area as well.

Old fashioned candy store, ice cream parlor, antique store and several non-chain restaurants to include one that serves bottomless Mamosa's with a tequila bar. What a cool place to spend a summer evening. The gazebo in the center with old glory proudly flying, reminds one of a simpler time in America.

So this is not the fanciest place on earth, nor is it the trendiest. This is an old-fashioned downtown in a diverse city that can be enjoyed by all ages. Entertainment is family oriented at different festivals and events. For those who expect fast food speed at restaurants, it's probably not the place to hang out. If you want to slow down a bit and enjoy your family or friends, it's a great place to visit. There is a growing younger crowd with some nice apartment/retail developments nearby, including the one that houses Twisted Root Burger. Places not to miss - International Bakery for cuban coffee and pastries, Babe's Chicken for a terrific homestyle meal, and Twisted Root Burger for a great burger. Also Cane Rosso for pizza, Amici's for Italian, and El Rincon for Mexican food or a cocktail. There is a wine bar, and ice cream shoppe, a cafe, and an old fashioned grill. The DART line has a stop here, so it's a fun ride from the Frankford station or even from Denton via the A train and connecting at Trinity Mills to DART. My kids are teenagers now, but when they were little, the DART ride on a weekend late morning or early afternoon made them happier than where we went or what we ate. If you're looking for cookie-cutter cities that try to create a retro downtown with fancy "antique reproduction" carbon-copy buildings, this isn't it. It's authentic and laid back.

It's cool if you live there. New restaurants. They are all ok. The pizza place is the best. All the roads and highways are being updated. They have events and concerts.

There is not really a lot to see there, but there is 3 restaurants, Ice Cream parlor, huge antique store and several other shops to see.
