We have made numerous trips to Carol's retreat in Blisswood, and we decided that this year we would bring family with us. Our kids, grandchildren, and parents came with us for a Thanksgiving - Ranch Style. The weather was perfect, and the ranch was a great selection for a family retreat. Armando and Skeeter were available whenever we needed anything, and took great care of us. The Lehmann House was big enough for the 9 of us, and we spent the mornings wearing out the fish on the two large ponds, and the rest of the day cooking and eating. There was plenty of room for the kids to play, hike around, and climb the huge oak trees without bothering the other guests.

We are already in the works planning our next stay.

If you are stuck in a Houston rut, get yourself a comfortable pair of boots, a fishing pole, and a good book for the front porch, and book a weekend stay here.

Room Tip: To be in the middle of the ranch activity, the Log Cabin is the way to go. If you want seclusion from everything, you want the Enchanted Cabin. Got a big group? The Lehmann House is what you want.

My husband and I decided to go with the elopement package. It felt so magical.... Carol was very accommodating from the flower bouquet, the cake, the horse, the vows, the honeymoon cabin. Everything felt perfect. We stayed in the Enchanted Cabin which we loved because it was secluded, very warm on the inside, outdoor hot tub and was very rustic which made our stay very romantic. We would do everything over again just the same. So glad we picked this place!! We will definitely be back!!

Room Tip: For a romantic stay, pick the Enchanted Cabin because it's secluded and feels rustically romantic.

Where do I start?

Myself and 4 girlfriends just stayed in the Gate's House for 2 nights. It was fabulous and had every amenity we could ever want! The beds were luxurious. The carpet was soft. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean and well stocked with all the equipment we needed!

We arrived late at night, after it was dark, and Skeeter punctually met us near the entrance to BlissWood and personally escorted us down the road to our new home and made sure we had everything we needed. I had AT&T phone service any place I attempted to use my cell phone on the ranch, with zero issues.

Saturday morning, myself and one of my girlfriends were delighted by an hour-long trail ride through beautiful parts of the ranch that you would never see otherwise! The horses were wonderful, as was our guide, Armando, who stopped and took many pictures of us with our cameras!

Saturday night, all five of us girls went to Carol's Restaurant, and we were BLOWN AWAY! The service was top-notch. The Wine was excellent. And the food was absolutely amazing. We shared dishes so I was able to taste the steak and the pork (both cooked to order and seasoned to perfect), and one of the soups which was also excellent.

Sunday morning before we left, Skeeter met us at the gift shop so we could take home some souvenirs! We also stopped and said hi to all of the dogs, exotic birds, and other animals before we left. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I'm already making plans to return with my husband next month! Highly recommend!

Room Tip: If you want to be closer to many of the amenities (horse rides, canoes, skeet shooting, gift shop, show barn, etc), chose a cabin on the main part of the property. If you don't care about any of that, then the Gate's house (and several other smaller cabins) at the Oasis where we stayed will be perfect! Away from all of the noise and cares of city life. I can't wait to go back!

So happy that you had a glamorous girl's weekend and that you found time in a busy life (that everybody seems to have nowadays) to post a review. It is appreciated.

We booked the Anniversary package and stayed in the Lanai In the Oasis section. The Cottage was quaint with the tropical paint scenes on the wall and very clean! The waterfalls and small pond outside our porch was so relaxing and enjoyable day or night. We so enjoyed the natural setting and beautiful trees every where.
Our package came with beautiful roses, delicious chocolate dipped strawberries, champagne, enough continental breakfast to feed us even when we got home and a picnic lunch on the island in the gazebo.
We chose to go to the restaurant for our romantic dinner. The décor was unique and inviting for couples. And the food was delicious and balanced.
Our stay was relaxing and a great time for renewing our relationship in a less busy world than we live in.

We enjoyed touring the ranch with a delightful couple we met. It has some great photo sights.

The staff was friendly, helpful, available.

Thanks for a great stay.

My best friend and I went for an overnight trip to Blisswood Ranch (recommended by another dear friend of mine) for a birthday get-away. The experience was exactly what we wanted and was delightful. The ranch and the accommodations were beautiful and the attention to detail was amazing. Upon arrival, we were delighted by our "Hibiscus Suite"..quaint with gorgeous landscaping and private grotto. I had an amazing massage in the suite. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxing evening. The next morning we delighted in a lovely boxed breakfast that had been prepared for us waiting in the fridge...then took a horseback ride with the wonderful ranch hand, Armando. Skeeter, a Pulitzer Prize winning photographer greets you with a warm welcome, and Carol, the owner...wow! What an amazing lady to carry off what she does. What a great staff, beautiful grounds, and I will unquestionably be back regularly!

Room Tip: We enjoyed the Hibiscus Suite on the Oasis side but do plan to return to stay in one of the cabins on the ranch side to try those out for a different experience..
