Still the best game day experience in football, but now the stadium will match it. The first half of the transformation will be fully complete by the start of the 2014 season but already the structures, seats, and the biggest scoreboard in college football are in place. The field was lowered, the lower deck on the student side was removed and replaced with more bathrooms, better concessions and a canopy to contain the crowd noise and new lighting. The various structures and old scoreboard were removed from the south end zone and a massive new seating area closing in the end zone was added to bring the seating capacity for 2014 to about 107,000. After the 2014 season, the entire west side will be demolished and rebuilt in three decks with a matching canopy, many new suites, air conditioned private clubs with enhanced padded armchair seating, many more bathrooms, expanded concourses, escalators, and elevators. With the expanded seat widths and amenities, the final seating capacity will be 102,500, the largest in the SEC and the state of Texas at this time.
