Carrington House Bed and Breakfast

Reviewed 5 April 2014

Sandy, the owner/hostess, is wonderful and cooks up a delicious breakfast. She provides a very relaxed atmosphere at the B&B and has lots of helpful information about the area.
We chose to stay in Comfort as the lodging prices are better in Fredericksburg. Next time we'll just stay in/around Fredericksburg as the drive is not worth the difference in lodging price

Rooms are great. Outdoor seating area for each room. Pool and hot tub. Breakfast is wonderful. Woke up to the smells of baking bread and bacon. Will be back!

Ate at nearby Guenther's. Great food and music.

I stayed here with a group of girls while visiting the hill country for a bridal shower. We rented every room in the house and it was fabulous! Clean, comfortable and cozy rooms. We enjoyed the hot tub and the breakfast was unbelievably good!!

My grandson and I headquartered at the Carrington House while visiting the hill country. After spending the morning on the Enchanted Rock in August's heat, we spent all afternoon in the pool at Carrington House! Our whole stay was so relaxed and personal. Sandy went out of her way to make us feel at home. Our room was gorgeous and comfortable, and featured its own balcony overlooking the pool (AND a cuddly Teddy bear on the bed!). Breakfast was delicious, and we even took some yummy muffins with us for our rock climb. Returning to Carrington House is high on our travel wish list!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Carrington House as a mid-way point while traveling from West Texas to Houston. Our room was the upstairs suite which had its own outside entrance and featured its own private patio. The suite had separate living room with couch, antique chairs and TV. The TV has cable TV and there are auxiliary video inputs to hook up a DVD player (although there isn't one provided). There was a cabinet in the living room with coffee maker, cups and glasses, and a great selection of coffees and teas.

A hallway connected the living room back to the bedroom. The bathroom was located in the hallway and had a very nice antique bathtub with shower. The shower temperature and pressure were good. Plenty of soap, shampoos and hand lotions were provided.
All of the windows had nice curtains and blinds or drapes.

The bedroom had a queen-sized bed with 6 real pillows and Egyptian cotton sheets and a synthetic feather comforter. It was a canopy-type bed with a nice decorative fabric top. We thought the bed was quite comfortable. There was a clock radio provided. There is no phone in the room (no problem though as we had our cell phones. There is cell service in the area).

Climate control was provided by a through-the-wall type electric heating/AC unit which worked great even as temperatures got into the 30's at night.

Even better than the room was the innkeeper Sandy's hospitality and wonderful breakfast. We stayed two different nights and each breakfast menu was different. The first one had French toast with two toast slices with cream cheese between and orange sauce, plus sliced smoked sausage, grapefruit, and homemade muffins.

The second menu had baked apples, green chili and cheese omelets plus four sausage links each along fried potatoes and more homemade muffins. The coffee was so good, it was Community New Orleans coffee.

I am not exaggerating, this is literally the best breakfast food we have had in years. Nothing we have eaten in any cafe has been nearly as good.

The service at breakfast was superb, we always had plenty of coffee and juice. Sandy was very nice to talk to and helped us in finding our way to the next town. The rates were very reasonable too.

We definitely would recommend the Carrington House and will always stay there if our travels take us that way again.
