We had a great time at Haven River Inn. The facility is an absolutely beautiful old home that has been meticulously restored. Every room is beautiful with up to date private bath. Furnishings and interior of home is beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and the view from each room of the Texas Hill Country was great. The staff was very helpful, friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was excellent. We will definitely be going back.

Generous portions served for meals. Good food except that the white gravy on the breakfast menu had much too much black pepper in it.

We stayed at the Haven River Inn as a one night get-a-way. It's very clean, homey, quiet, and has an excellent breakfast. It is a 20 minute drive away from Fredricksburg. The innkeeper, Cheryl, was very hospitable.

My stay was very refreshing, renewing, relaxing and just what I needed. My only "complaint" is that I would loved to have stayed longer. I could have done that, as there was apace available, but unfortumately it did not work with my schedule. I highly recommend this place.

We were fortunate to have a corner room with a river view. When we return I will book earlier and request one of the two corner rooms with windows facing the river. Breakfasts were delicious with coffee and hot teas available before the 9 a.m. service began.

There were lovely antique shops in nearby Comfort as well as a few good places to eat (High cafe on mainstreet) for lunches and dinners. Be forewarned: most of this little village shops shut down on Mondays.

We plan to bring groups back to this site which has a well-equipped third floor kitchen area that could serve a small group. Our stay was a peaceful respite from our busy schedule where you can read, think, write, reconnect. I highly recommend it---especially to pastors and others in the ministry.

This is a wonderful place to stay. It's more like staying in a comfy home than a hotel. You have the run of the place just like home. Big porches with rocking chairs for reading and nice sitting rooms are all there to help you relax. They even have books for you to borrow if you enjoy reading. The beds were comfy. The breakfast was sensational. The decor was beautiful. Be sure to take a walk or two by the river. We saw lots of deer, birds, and other wildlife. The hostess, Cheryl, is there to please and will take care of your every need from helping you find places to eat to coffee or ice water and lively conversation. Quality people run this place and want to make sure you're happy and enjoy your stay. My husband and I will be returning for sure and we might even bring the kids this time to enjoy the big pool. Fredericksburg is close for shopping and German food, but less pricey and more down home is Comfort where the people treat you like family. Be sure to eat at Guenther's just down the road. We had catfish and shrimp and it was reasonably priced and tasty.

Whether it was fresh coffee, travel and dining information, an offer of afternoon pie, or just pleasant conversation, the hostess was there for us.

The breakfast food was not as sumptuous as many B&B's we've stayed at, but it could be that had there been more guests they would have offered their full buffet and we'd have found items more to our liking. We stayed mid-week and there were only 4 at breakfast one day, and we 2 the next.

Can't say enough good about the service from reservation to during our stay, and the house is lovely.
