“Excellent new restaurant”
Reviewed 22 April 2014 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

Had my first visit to this Gringo's. They have been open at this location for about six months. Place was very busy as you would expect.
Was very impressed with the restaurant. Building, setting, decorations were impressive. Food was great. Service was excellent. Waiter suggested a special priced item on meal that would serve all six hungry folks. He was a very good waiter - handles service well, kept us informed of wait time, etc. The special meal was great - more food than we could possibly eat (tooka lot of food home)

“Gringo's”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

The best Mexican restaurant in the city of Houston and surrounding area. Great prices/service and wonderful food. The one drawback is the wait for a table. The restaurant is always crowded, but the food makes it worth the wait. Wonderful fajitas, and delicious enchiladas. Oh heck...everything is delicious at this restaurant!

“Very good - and huge portions!”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Excellent sauces start off your meal here with the warm tortilla chips. Great ambience. Warning - come with a big appetite or plan to share. The portions are substantial. Thank heaven we split one of the dinners. They also have a la carte ordering. So, if you all you want is one soft taco, you can order it. Enjoy!!

“Great food but so-so service”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

I love to eat here but you should always be prepared for a long wait to be seated and then a long wait to get served. The food is always outstanding and worth the wait.

“Authentic Mexican”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

This restaurant is just down the road from another choice that is less than desirable, Alicias. I find the food fresh and authentic. Their texmex is nice as well. They don't slap refried beans and plasticized queso on everything. Their veggies are not massacred and the meat is meat, not mixed with fat as filler. The quality of food is excellent. The atmosphere is varied. It can be loud in the main dining area. Outside is covered and heated. What they can't change is the road noise of 290, right next to it. The playground for kids is fine. Their bar is nice and has quick service with beer specials on certain nights I am told. There are tables and booths to choose from. The waitstaff is nice and efficient as are the hostess staff. The wait is longer here than at Alicia's down the road. Worth the extra wait. Bathrooms are always clean as well.
