“Pet friendly chill restaurant out in Cypress”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

I finally took the opportunity to stop at this joint 2 miles from my home. I'm so glad I did on this fine Good Friday. I had the 5 Napkins burger with a runny egg on top on the house made jalapeno cheddar bun. Holy moly! Everyone was right about these being some delicious "non corporate" burgers. This is an all outdoors venue with random picnic tables, patio furniture, tire swings, people playing catch with a football, dogs and cats dining with their owners, and just an all around fun experience. I wish I hadn't waited so long to check it out. Great selection of Texas born beers, burgers, cheese fries, fried pickles, and much more. Finally a great burger in Cypress has been discovered.

“Yummmm!”
Reviewed 18 April 2014 via mobile

Our friend introduced us to The Shack today. Oh, yum! These are great burgers! I had the 5 Napkins with a burger, bacon, cheddar and an egg and it was delicious, but I could only eat half. My two kids shared a Mac n Cheese burger and they barely managed to finish half of it. Other people had the Fireman, the Hannah Banana, and the Cooter Jack. Everyone liked their huge burgers and we have leftovers for a whole additional meal. Plus it had a great casual, comfortable vibe, is kid friendly and is just a fun place. Go, eat, have a beer, and enjoy!

“The Love Shack is a little old place...”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

The Shack, or "The Love Shack" as we affectionately call it is literally a little shack in a field. They have some incredibly awesome gourmet burgers. If you think the burgers are pricey, just wait until you taste them - they're worth every penny! I usually split one because they're pretty big.

The Shack was closed for a while, but re-opened sometime in 2013 and has been going gangbusters ever since. They've got lots of covered seating out back so don't let the rain keep you away!

The best burgers in Cypress, but they do have a close competitor...

“Rockin and quirky”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

This restaurant is fab because there is something new each time I come. There is no actual inside dining, just covered. Statues, beer, weird food combos, music, interesting bathrooms, there is no actual way to describe it, you just experience it! Eclectic is about the closest you can get to a description. Don't come here if you have rigid restaurant expectations. This is not your mug of beer. The fried bacon/pecan pie is a fave! LOVE the 5 napkin. Look at the menu before you and a bunch of people try it for the first time. If it has rained recently the parking lot could be mucky. Great stuff for the kids to play on. Not the usual stuff. Don't dress them nicely, dirt and sand rule the roost here! It is called The Shack for a reason. Wait staff is pretty laid back, "Austin-ish". Is that a word?

“Awesome burgers and ambience!”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Though this place is mainly open nights and weekends, it's a great little hideaway burger joint in Cypress.

They have a great selection of food, and everything takes gourmet. The restaurant is nicely decorated, very "chill" and "backyard" type vibe.

If you do go in the summer, and you know Houston, it'll be hot since this place is not indoors. They do provide heaters during the colder months, which here in Texas is like one or two days.

Besides the non-aircondition part, this place is decent. And if you want something that isn't run-of-the-mill franchise type burger place, check it out.
