Use to go to this area to get my nails done and grab a great quiet lunch...or for a night time music venue. That was years ago. This area is much more upscale than before, with alot more offerings and less of the "crazies" from 15 years ago. Good area to loft reside if you work downtown.

Great place to go for concerts and dining. The area is experiencing a revival.

This area cleans up then gets rough again. There are some GREAT places to eat, but I don't go down there at night.

Occasionally when there is an art show or advertised event I'll travel down to Deep Ellum. When I first moved to Dallas 7 years ago it was a pretty hoppin' place day and night. Lately when I go down, not so much (at least during the day). There are lots of tattoo parlors, a few unique shops, bars, and several empty holes where there used to be venues.

Rent is crazy high in this location for a venue so, I'd say at the time of this review, due to the economy, I'm sure that's part of the impact to this other wise once fablous area to venture through for a night escape in Dallas.

This is an area in Downtown Dallas where young people like to hang out. There are several great places to eat one is the "House of Blues".Place to take all ages of friends. We have gone there several times. It is near the art district and it is near many other Dallas attractions such as art museum, aquariam, theater and downtown shopping. Not far from John F Kennedy museum and book depository.
It is accessable by train so it has is advantages especially when you want to do something different and relaxing, hear different sounds of music and eat good food. I see a lot of young people there.
