My girlfriend made reservations for us for New Years Eve. Upon arrival, we were informed that the washers had been down during the day, so it would be an hour-hour and half wait to get into our room. After talking with desk staff, and requesting to speak with a manager, we were assured our room would be read in 30 minutes, and were offered a $50 credit to the hotel bar, where the hotel manager would meet us, and we would be called when our room was ready. Almost an hour and half later, we went back to the desk, without seeing the manager, or being called for our room. We were then issued a room, and got settled in, only to find out over an hour later we had no linens. Around 1145 pm, my girlfriend tried to draw a bath, with no hot water. Our New Years was rung in with hotel maintenance working on our hot water. I went back to the desk to express my displeasure with the hotel, and speak to the manager, who'd never bothered to contact us. As we were checking out, and being told our outstanding balance was $30, I spoke with hotel manager Chris. Chris agreed to comp the room. Since we had booked through Priceline, this wasn't possible. However, Chris did write off the additional $30 in food. The room itself was nice, however, we will not be returning to this hotel.

Overall stay was a pleasure once amenities were corrected. This historic hotel holds a great deal for the eye. From the valet entrance to the threshold of our doorway, we felt a sense of grandeur and posterity with the exception of the dirty linens in the hallway after 5:00p.m. As we settled in to locate our amenities as stated online, we found disappointment. Anticipating a relaxing evening with a holiday movie and a nice glass of wine or mug of coffee, we found paper coffee cups, lacking of brewing supplies, no wine glasses, no DVD player (per hotel website), and no access to movies on demand as stated. If this hotel has a green earth agenda, they were on target with towel rationing. We found one towel and no washcloths.

After several staff interventions, our stay became memorable. We were greeted with a can do attitude and a ‘sorry for the inconvenience’ demeanor.

Lovely hotel, friendly and professional staff and the room was clean and actually very impressive.

However ... we only had one bath towel when we arrived and so called down to housekeeping for another bath towel and some handtowels. 10 minutes later, a lovely lady arrived to advise us that they didn't have any!!!! A 4* hotel and they don't have bath towels - isn't that weird? Anyway, we took the proffered two handtowels and two face towels and managed to dry ourselves after our showers!

My husband and I celebrated our 16th Wedding Anniversary here at the Adolphus Hotel. When we arrived at this hotel we were greeted like we were famous. From the valet to room service, this was a five star experience. During our stay we experienced our first "High Tea" - we had a blast! On the night of our anniversary, we ate at The Adolphus' famous, The French Room. It is truly the best dining experience. The restaurant is absolutely breath-taking and the environment is both warm and inviting. Our waitress catered to us as if we were the only couple in the restaurant. If you are looking for a hotel that is both exquisite and warm; look no further....The Adolphus Hotel is your place. Enjoy your home - away from - home!!!

Room Tip: Corner room on the 15th floor is large, quiet, and has a great view of downtown Dallas!
