My husband and I live in Fort Worth, TX, but we visit the Adolphus when we just want to get away for a nice time together. The Adolphus has a membership club called Club Adolphus and we love it. On our most recent visit we requested an upgrade and they even upgraded the upgrade! It was AWESOME! We were upgraded from a suite to an apartment.

I stayed at the Adolphus during a business trip last week. I was so lucky the host hotel was sold out, because this was definitely the place for me. The hotel is beautiful, decorated in its grand lobby with dark wood, grand piano and all the pieces that make it elegant and sophisticated. The service was top notch, all the team players doing their best to make sure guests were happy. The room was spacious and lovely. There is a mini bar and coffee maker in the room, as well as obvious other amenities. In my room there was barely any natural light, due to the configuration of the hotel, but it didn't matter! This room was my luxury hideaway. Afternoon tea and a player at the grand piano in the lobby were just lovely touches. Breakfast in the Bistro was efficient and delicious, as was dinner at Walt Garrison's, attached to the hotel.
Can't wait to go to Dallas again...and stay here!

I really enjoyed this hotel. This year was their 100th year celebration. I felt like I was stepping back in time.

Staff- very friendly and helpful. They had a wealth of info.
Room Service- I did not use
Rooms- Huge room, great bed. I could see the age of the hotel in a small way. Like the wallpaper under the bathroom sink was a little torn but I could only see that when I was using the toilet. ha. Lovely blackout curtains which is wonderful for someone like me who has chronic migraines.
Housekeeping- did not use
Location- perfect downtown location

When in Dallas, I stay here every chance I get. The hotel staff are friendly and professional and the rooms are clean and quiet. Be sure to have breakfast at the Bistro and get a late night beer downstairs at Walt Garrison's. The Adolphus has been a winner for 100 years.

You should stay at the Adolphus. In a region like Dallas where nearly every hotel property is a chain, and the sameness is stultifying, the Adolphus is different. In this review, I don't have any secrets, tips, tricks or special suggestions. The Adolphus is what it is, no pretenses.

On the plus side, one expects when checking into a 100-year old hotel (really; it's 100 years old) that the hallways will be dark and narrow and the rooms small. None of this is true with the Adolphus. Nicely lit hallways, and wide hallways, and the rooms are nicely sized. The property is within an easy walk of the convention center, and if you look around, there is about everything you might want in the few blocks around the place. Staff is cordial, and the fireplace lobby and tea room is delightful.

On the negative side, the price of the rooms seem slightly above what I perceive to be the value point. And then the details again, this time, mainly in the bathroom. You know, the usual. Chipped and cracked tile in the bathroom. A bathroom door knob that is scratched and rusty. A toilet that looks like it dates rom the '70s. Housekeeping did its job, don't get me wrong. These beefs are maintenance issues. Easy and inexpensive to fix. If I were the manager, I'd go visit the rooms a few at a time with my maintenance supervisor and just start knocking them off one issue at a time. There are many of these little things, but not enough to sway you from staying there.

Oh, one more thing: the stains and stuck chewing gum on the sidewalk out front of the hotel. It's very apparent. How hard would it be to have someone steam and scrape this off? It makes the approach to the property look like this is going to be an unkempt place.

These are good people, and this is a decent property. Stay there if you are going to need a place in Dallas.

Room Tip: I couldn't determine there is any advantage at this property. All the rooms I saw seemed to have...

I recently stayed at the Adolphus while in Dallas for a meeting. I found the staff to be wonderful and extremely helpful.

The hotel lobby is beautiful with the wood paneling and decor.

The room itself was spacious, comfortable and clean.

I would recommend to all family and friends.

This is a charming hotel with some of the friendliest staff I've ever met. The location of the property was centrally located and convenient, and the amenities offered within the hotel were very nice. The fitness center is modern and up to date with a decent supply of equipment and cardio machines. Had breakfast in the Bistro and it was delicious- and reasonably priced. The bathroom was bit out of date, but they had done a nice job of trying to add updated touches to keep it in line with the rest of the hotel facilities. Loved the lobby and check in area. I even left my phone in the back of one of the town cars that works at the hotel, and the concierge was able to track him down and get my phone back to me - so impressive. Great all around!
