I generally try to avoid any airport hotel but heard this was a great property so I gave it a try. Wow...it's an upscale hotel in the airport. What an oasis. The room and bed was comfortable and the room service/restaurant food was really wonderful. If I needed to stay at an airport hotel this would be one I would gladly stay at again.

Arrived late on a stopover flight with three small children in tow and very happy to have booked a room right at the airport! Wonderful reception staff despite the hour and lovely porter and room staff! Only downfall was there was no rollaway in the room but this was corrected super fast and with a smile! Thankyou! Our breakfast was included and was delicious, our little boy super happy with his bowl of blueberries. Our server at breakfast Cody was wonderful, nothing was too much trouble and thanks also to the general manager Nicholas for organising a great view for the kids overlooking the runway...a real treat for them. Thanks again for this.
A great choice for a layover with wonderful staff!

Room Tip: View of the runway is great entertainment for the kids but of course you can hear the planes!

Everything started off on the wrong foot with the worst possible untrained personnel at the reception desk. Everything went downhill after that. The telephone in our room did not work and was never fixed during our stay. We were forced to go to the subbasement to use a telephone. The guest computers were also in this business center and cost twenty US dollars per hour. An extreme case of Rip-Off. The security at this hotel is good but it did not prevent the staff stealing from us and this is exactly what they did. The bartenderess at the lobby bar should not be allowed to have contact with guests. And to boot she is one of the worst mixologists ever encountered. The boy at the valet desk out on the sidewalk was the dimmest valet I've ever come across. We will never stay here again.

Hyatt Gold Passport Status: Platinum

POSITIVES:
Check-in- When we arrived there were several people in line to check-in. A bellman asked if he could assist us with a kiosk check-in. It was fast and we completed the check-in prior to those in line at the desk. Excellent customer service!

Cleanliness of room- The room and bath were spotless.

Water temperature & pressure- Self-explanatory.

Location- Great location in Terminal D of DFW airport. Big time saver for catching those early morning flights.

Room technology- Everything from the temperature, to lights, to the draperies can be controlled from panels located on the nightstands on each side of the bed.

Grand Met Restaurant- An excellent restaurant! We had reservations and were called by name several times during dinner. The restaurant manager came by our table and introduced herself. The food was excellent and the Grand Met has a good selection of wines by the glass.


NEGATIVES:
Bed pillows- Only one negative. The bed pillows were only half-size, similar to what one finds in Holiday Inn. I'm sure they would have brought us full-sized pillows if we had asked but it was late and we were tired so we did not ask.


Overall, this was an excellent stay and I will definitely return to the Grand Hyatt DFW again. Actually, we already have another reservation in June!

If you need a hotel near the DFW airport, look no further. It is actually inside the airport, you take the escalator from terminal D and you are there. Lobby is kind of small, but the adjoining bar area is very nice. Rooms are very small but quite functional, floor to ceiling windows, everything digital and easy to control from the bed.
It is kind of sterile/ultra-modern appearing, but for one night before/after/in between flights, just perfect.

Spent one afternoon and evening here between meetings. Very nice to have access to the hotel directly from the lobby of Terminal D at DFW. Reception lobby at the top of the escalator is relatively small (and circular!) but adjoins the lobby bar and restaurant which was actively used, even in the afternoon.

Rooms are large, with floor-to ceiling windows and both a sheer and a shade that are controlled from a master control center by the bed. The lights can be controlled from here as well. Good sized desk with ample power outlets and free wifi.

Bathroom had a separate shower and a bath, not that it really matters to me.

Only negative is that this hotel doesn't have a upscale restaurant other than the restaurant in the lobby. We ended up getting a shuttle to the old Hyatt where there was a good steak house called Mister G's. The maitre d there is quite a character.

I flew to DFW for a business meeting that took place in the Grand Hyatt's meeting rooms. The hotel is very convenient to get to from any terminal by taking the Skylink to Terminal D. I arrived around noon for a 1-5pm meeting and they let me check in early. There are a large number of meeting rooms on the lower level that are all different sizes. Our meeting was for 12-15 people. They had a small buffet lunch set up outside our meeting room and drinks and desserts set up inside our room on a long counter. All of the food was very good. No paper or plastic, all was served just as if you were in a nice restaurant. There is also a restaurant in the hotel, but I didn't eat there. Upon check-in you are given a card with your room keys that is for a free cup of coffee down in the lobby right in front of the restarurant. The rooms were very modern and very nice. When you walk in the room the shades automatically go up and the TV is on with a personalized welcome message. There is a control panel by the bed where you can control the shades and lights including the bathroom night light. The bathroom has separate tub and shower and good lighting and toiletries. The lower level has a business center and several places to print a boarding pass or check out of your room. The business center charges $5 for 15 minutes on their computers and also charge for printing. All-in-all a GREAT place to host a meeting for out-of-town guests. Considering no rental cars or fighting traffic the roughly $330 pre-tax cost is worth it.
