Owner description: The adventure at The Dallas World Aquarium begins at the top of the rainforest exhibit, where exotic birds, such as Cocks-of-the-rock and many species of toucans, can be seen. Lounging around are Two-toed and Three-toed sloths. Endangered animals, such as Orinoco crocodiles, Giant river otters, Antillean manatees and several species of monkeys are part of the many conservation projects. The aquarium portion displays interesting marine life, including Japanese crabs, jellyfish, Leafy, Weedy and Ribbon seadragons. Black-footed and Blue penguins can be seen swimming as guests enjoy the outdoor South Africa exhibit. Sharks, rays and sawfish are only a few of the fish living in the Mundo Maya cenote. Safe from Neotropical eagles, are euphonias, tanagers and hummingbirds. Reptiles and amphibians, both of significance to the Maya culture, can be seen throughout the exhibit.

We went on May 27th Memorial Weekend. We went expecting quite a crowd, which wasn’t a major deal. However, a downside to this is you can not purchase tickets in advance, meaning depending on how busy they are you may be waiting 45 minutes-1hr in line just waiting to get admission tickets. For two adults, it was $44.00. While this isn’t the worst price in the world, I did not feel that the aquarium was worth that much money and that we would’ve enjoyed the zoo better. I enjoyed the aquarium, but it was very crowded and you do not have very much room to walk around and get a good view like you would at the zoo where it is more open. The layout was also confusing and seems a bit like a maze. I would’ve liked this much more if it wouldn’t have been so crowded, otherwise I would say it is a good experience to go to at least once. My favorite part of the aquarium was the portion where you can get up close to look at the sharks. It has a place where you can sit and watch them swim by you as if you’re in the aquarium with them. That part alone was almost worth the price.

I took my daughter here and we had fun. There were a lot of small fish tanks to look at, but not a lot of large ones. I felt they put more effort into the bird area.

Plan to spend several hours here! The term aquarium does not do this place justice. There is a sloth, a crocodile, and bats along with the typical things you would expect from a world class aquarium. The little children ran out of steam before we could finish visiting all of the exhibits. Which in my humble opinion is a good thing. The neighborhood has several nice restaurants to choose from which makes for an incredibly nice day with small children

When approaching from the outside we were skeptical of what we would find inside. However, there were tons of interesting animals and proved worth the price of admission.

We only had a couple of hours in Dallas and decided that the aquarium would be a nice place to spend the afternoon. The lines to get in were a bit long. We had to wait about 10 minutes to pay. Once inside, the exhibits were interesting and fun. There were LOTS of kids and strollers there. It was accessible to all. There was a place to buy simple snacks. We didn’t see any place to buy meals, but we weren’t looking for that. It was a bit pricey to get in at $20.95 per adult, but we enjoyed our visit and were glad we chose this attraction.
