“Really nice hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 October 2012

I stayed at the Omni for a conference. The conference facilities are very nice and spacious although the hotel is adacent to the Convention Center for really large events. The logistics for getting around the conference space work well. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

My room was not huge bu very efficiently laid out. Large windows amde it seem spacious. The bathroom was terrific with a large shower and a TV in the mirror! Really! First time I have seen this. Fridge and coffee maker in room were a nice amenity. Cozy robe included also. Bed linens great. My only criticism is that for as nice as the linens were, the bed was not all that comfortable. Go figure! TIP: The hotel is GREEN, which not only means that they will only change your linens and towels if you let them know, the lights work by inserting your card key into a slot on the wall. The idea is you take it out when you leave and thereby save energy. So, when you check in, make sure to ask for a second card key in case you forget one in the light slot. This did not happen to me but did happen to several other folks I met. The staff was really nice about it, but an inconvenience than can be avoided.

Overall, two thumbs up.

The new Omni Hotel in Downtown Dallas is beautiful & I can't wait to go again. We spent the night there to celebrate my husband's birthday and were in awe of the property. The rooms have great views of downtown, lots of small quiet getaways in the common areas, beautiful fireplaces and the common areas smell wonderful. We ate at two of the three restaurants and were very happy witht the size of the entrees and the quality.
The rooms are very comfortable and a wonderful shower and bathroom. A nice mini refrigerator and coffemaker are a wonderful touch.

This hotel is great, the staff are so friendly with nothing being too much trouble. The rooms were so cool, floor to ceiling windows with views to die for, tv in the bathroom mirror, lovely shower, great bath. Great artwork on the Walls and around the hotel was stunning, the children enjoyed the outdoor pool & spa with great views downtown. This is my first stay at an Omni Hotel but it certainly won't be my last!
Well done for making my first trip to Dallas a great one!

We decided to stay downtown at the Omni Dallas. I booked the room online at the Omni website, a bed & breakfast package. This allows for either room service or the breakfast buffet at their casual dining restaurant. We upgraded to a suite, #1402, with a view to the east, sunrise, overlooking the convention center and and over to Reunion Tower, the Hyatt Regency and the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge. Our guest experience was excellent. Since it's a new hotel, opened 11/11/11, the FF&E are still in excellent condition. The service is speedy and professional. Perfect location for the convention center, but not a lot of shops and restaurants within a real close walking distance. You'll need a car or cab it. We'll stay there again, I'm sure. So, check out the rate difference for a suite. Go ahead and splurge!

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and sunny.

If staying downtown for pleasure I found the Omni to be a nice little spot. The place is new and the rooms reflect that. The window views are great as the entire far wall is glass from floor to ceiling. The showers are large walk ins and its kind of cool to have a TV in the mirror of the bathroom. Cabs are readily available and upon a late night return to the hotel the in house sports bar makes a great spot for an evening cocktail. Next overnight trip to downtown I'll seriously consider the Omni.

Unfortunately I only spent one night in the beautiful hotel for a short retreat but everything was wonderful. The room itself was most spectacular, the art work, the beds, furniture and tv couldn't have been nicer. There is even a tv embedded in the mirror of the bathroom! I didn't get a chance to try the restaurants although every meal was catered to our group and it was very good. All meals were buffet style and the service staff was most accomodating. After having the service of the Hotel 1000 in Seattle, I don't think any hotel will ever live up to that. The check-in was sufficient, yet it wasn't like I was someone special, like that of Hotel 1000. My expectations of service will never be the same! I did get to have a spa treatment, a massage, which was very relaxing an my therapist was awesome!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the front of the hotel were very nice, quiet and had a great view of downtown.

I had to fly into Dallas on business last week and we stayed at the Omni Dallas Hotel, located and connected to the Convention Center. It's a relatively new hotel, very modern and very large. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the hotel has some great ammenities including very nice health club, business center, excellent restaurants and even one of the nicer gift shops.

The "down side" is that there is no shuttle from DFW so if you are staying here and can work it out, better to fly into Love Field than spend $50 on a cab each way to DFW.

The only two complaints I had were the check in process - although the staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, it was a bit disorganized and lines long. Given the size of the hotel and the volume of business, I think things can be improved. The other issue is the excessively long wait on the telephone just to get an operator or guest services. I had to call twice, and both times the wait was so long I ended up hanging up and tried at what I thought would be a slower time, only to have the same situation repeat.

All in all, this will be a great hotel and a great property, but it needs to work out some early kinks to get move it from good to great.
