Got some good photos but that's about it. nothing really to do except look at grave stones and take pictures next to statues of cattle.

“Historical site with early Dallas history”
Reviewed 15 February 2013

It was great walking through this cemetery, recognizing the names on the headstones, reading the histories that are posted throughout. Gives one a sense of early Dallas and who the men and women were that made this their home. We walked over, but there is street parking right there. The west side of the cemetery is the top section of the Pioneer Plaza cattle drive statues.

“Historical Sight in Poor Condition”
Reviewed 21 January 2013

Although this historical sight serves as a canvass for a herd of longhorn cattle crossing a river with a nice waterfall, the condition of the park and the historical cemetery where some of the cities original founders have been laid to rest is in very poor shape. Many head stones have been lost; some broken over time and others through criminal mischief. Regardless, until the city sees fit in picking up liquor bottles and beer cans left behind from overnight visitors and fencing off the area for a more organized and respected area, it looks to be headed for worsening conditions for sure. A shame to see it in such a state.

“Historical marker to see”
Reviewed 7 July 2012 via mobile

Lots of history here and people in the past to read about and learn from. Beautiful statues here as well. This is also a place on the Urban Quest Adventure.

“Here lies 154 years of Dallas History!”
Reviewed 25 January 2012

This historic cemetery is located in the same area as the Pioneer Plaza. It is well kept and clean. The history is just amazing and I really felt honored to be there. The location is very easy to get to with ample street parking and lots right in walking distance. Food is in walking distance as well. The Dallas Convention Center is also in the same area. There are many grave markers that explain the person that I found very interesting and I appreciated that it was provided. Along with a remarkable old cemetery is the Confederate Monument that was pretty cool to see. Take the time to read about the cemetery before you go so you get a better idea of it's true value. I had read that in 1891 vandals smashed 35 headstones. Although there are missing headstones and many broken ones, there is still plenty that are there that are readable. Just brings on the feeling of a very old cemetery. Several sculptures are simply beautiful. Don't miss this historic cemetery! Hope you enjoy as much as I did.
