“Classy hotel at the right price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

The Le Meridien Dallas is a lovely hotel - from the décor, the rooms themselves through to the service. A solo traveller without a car (it cost me $43 to get there by taxi from DFW, before tip - not cheap), I stayed here for 2 nights to do a bit of shopping before returning home to Melbourne. The proximity to the mall is very handy when you are on foot.

The room I had on the 5th floor was big and more than suited the needs of one person. The bed was fabulously comfortable - I slept like a baby. Nice big tv that you can swing around to either watch in bed or on the couch in the living area. Free wifi worked perfectly well in both the room and in the lobby.

I had room service dinner on the 2 nights and the meals were good, not great. The menu isn't extensive or very interesting, at least in my opinion. I would have liked to have had breakfast but was never quite hungry enough before 11am!

All in all, I would stay here again, it's certainly worth the price.

On site, easy free self park or valet. Quick check in. Beautiful, elegant, contemporary, spacious lobby with lots of places to hang out. Quick elevators. Quiet room. Luxury linens. Great AC. super comfy mattresses, no top sheet on either bed, perhaps they launder the duvet cover each guest. Free wifi gets a big fat zero, Took forever to connect mobile devices and never could get email or Facebook to load. Breakfast area was peaceful and with a high level service. Staff prepares hot breakfast and espresso on the spot. Breads, fruit, juice available, too. No paper/disposable ware. Location was convenient to our tourist destinations. We were only there only from 10 pm to 10 am.

All high end hotels teach staff the buzzword phrases and behaviors for good customer service. Things like saying a guest name three times during the check in process and all staff greeting guests when they pass. Yet none can teach the inherent kindness that some humans extend to others. I'm not sure how the Le Meridien management has done so, but every staff member I encountered was kind.

Yes I think the $18 overnight parking is excessive. No everything did not go perfectly on my stay (my room door malfunctioned and the wifi internet is spotty at best and always slow). But I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Walking out I looked for the Plato placard, Be kind. Everyone you meet is fighting a battle. Why? Because Eddie, the Director of Food and Beverage is a caring individual. Because Natalie, a recent hire went out of her way to approach and thank me for a small thing. Because Bryant, the bartender introduced me to his wife.

If you believe that people still do business with people, then give yourself, your family, and your business associates a treat. Stay at the Le Meridien Dallas by the Galleria.

Le Meridien is a classy hotel that's a block away from the Galleria. It boasts sensible European decor and a chic lobby. We stayed here one night when we were helping our son look for an apartment in Dallas.

The Good: As mentioned, it's close to the mall so you don't have to drive around. It also reminds me of Marriott hotels where you have a view of the entire lobby from the elevator, which is pretty neat. The staff are friendly. The hotel rates are reasonable.

The Bad: Really, really avoid the rooms by the elevator. Unless you simply didn't have a choice like us, you will hear the loud humming in your ear day in and day out, and you will be dreaming about it in your sleep. Valet service is also expensive.

The Verdict: The proximity to the mall and the price of overnight stay makes it worth it, but the room setup did not impress me. Sort of like the new rooms at the MGM Grand where the living space area faces the sleeping area. Too awkward. Also, shimmery pink walls are crazy. Altogether, a "stayable" hotel, except for the elevator noise.

Room Tip: Stay away from the rooms next to the humming elevators.

We stayed here to be near the American Girl store and Galleria shopping. Didn't disappoint. It was very modern, comfortable and clean. Room service was tasty and prompt. The only big expense was the parking. Not a deal breaker. We had an enjoyable time.

Room was very clean and spacious and I really liked the modern decor and furniture. The bed and bedding were also very comfortable. I only wished they provided better quality bathroom toiletries. Fortunately we had no issues with too much noise and our room was on the fourth floor with a window facing the lobby. We also found the hotel staff to be very polite and accommodating. The gated entryway to the parking lot was not working the day we arrived and the man at the front desk was kind enough to waive the parking fee. He also extended our check-out time to 1pm which is a plus in my book!

An absolute awesome time. The guest services and the incredible room and surroundings. I highly recommend this hotel chain in Dallas. A staff member Breana was very helpful and did everything possible to make our stay a memorable one. 5 Stars! Do not miss!
