“Good stay !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2013

As said overall we had a nice and comfortable stay in this Marriott !
A big plus for the staff ! Always friendly. The room was a nice surprise on the 10th floor, big and well appointed. We enjoyed the lounge on floor 16, breakfast was rather poor !
Why not a 5 rating ? Because the location is not what we expected !

Had the chance to stay at the Marriott City Center for 3 nights. What a nice surprise; this hotel joins the ranks of my 5 star Dallas properties.

Although we stayed for leisure activities, this hotel clearly caters to the business traveler. Since I occasionally do business travel, I can safely say that I would be happy to stay at this property. The rooms are typically Marriott - clean, upscale, and with great in-room workspace. There really isn't a room with a bad view: to the west, one overlooks a nice Dallas downtown park, and the opposite rooms overlook the interior of the shops and adjoining buildings that comprise the Plaza of the Americas.

Had the opportunity to have a drink and snack at Centric, the bar and grill; this was highlighted by spectacular service from the staff (note: it was late on a week night and they weren't terribly busy). The main standouts of the stay were the food, amenities, and service in the executive lounge - the best we have experienced at ANY Marriott or other chain. The fitness facility was large and well-equipped.

Will we return? You betcha!!!

Stay there - don't think you'll be disappointed!!

I have not stayed at any other hotels in the Dallas Metro so I am pretty much going blind on this review. The staff was very helpful and always courteous. The rooms were extremely clean and well appointed with a very nice TV and a pretty comfortable bed. The restaurant bar area was very nice although it was extremely expensive in my opinion. If I had a need to stay downtown again I would not hesitate to choose this Marriott.

It receives three circles for the simple fact the water in the shower was not uniformly warm--in fact it was almost cold. To me this is inexcusable in any hotel, let alone a higher end Marriott.

I need to add the location was fantastic. If the water was warm it is a four circle easily.

Terrible experience! Don't ever go to this hotel with a few friends looking to have a good time. My 2 children would've been louder than we were in the rooms, yet we got 2 warnings (1 each day) and got kicked out and had to go to another hotel at 10:00 PM at night (not the easiest thing to do when you are in Dallas for the first time). The last warning we got at 9:00 PM for the ACTUAL clock radio being too loud (seriously...not joking). The hotel did not refund our money for the day we got kicked out either. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels in my life, and have never had a worse experience in my life. We even had their loss prevention people threatening to have us arrested. Again, for a clock radio being a bit too loud (when really it wasn't). Even though this is only one Marriott, I will NEVER....repeat NEVER stay at another Marriott ever again, no matter where the location.

Stayed for 2 nights nov 7-8th for business. reserved 2 rooms. The rooms were nice enough, however they placed us in rooms on the 10 and 11th floors facing the street. The noise from the street was very loud all thru the night. Service in both the bar and the rest. was very slow, and the drinks were very overpriced. In addition you have to pay to park in a hotel that you are a guest in.

Room Tip: choose a room away from the street.

Cleaner hotel with good business traveler features. You can get free internet connection from nearby networks. But in addition to the risk, the signal is weak. One of the better things about this hotel is the concierge level. I understand from the front desk that it is one of the largest in the chain. Very big, great view up there, a number of HD TVs, meeting and game area. Nice room.

Room Tip: From what I was told, there is not much difference in the cost between valet and self park. About $5...

This hotel has a nice location. We traveled for the Dallas cowboy football game with our teenagers. The hotel is easy to get back and forth from the stadium. Our check in was easy. The person also made a suggestion for a different room to allow more space for the family. We really appreciated this thoughtfulness. Most people just process your reservation. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. We walked to Perrys restuarant our first night. A beautiful Catholic church was just up the street too. Most of the places are about six blocks or so.

The hotel is connected to a nice atrium area that has several stores. This is convenient and easy to let teens go to. However, everything is closed on Sundays. Hotel bar and restaurant were nice. Hotel staff very nice and friendly. The hotel was busy with weddings and the marine ball, we heard nothing and were not bothered by any noise.
Would stay here again. Still had nice cowboy fans, but not annoying partying all night types.
