My wife and I just got back from visiting this library today. We have been to every Presidential museum & library with the exception of Herbert Hoover's and this one was by far the least interesting.

I'll start with the "best things. The video put together by the Bush twins talking about the president's sense of humor was hilarious! I sometimes forget how well "43" could laugh at himself and really mot take offense at the joke. The other personal, family touches were great also and totally make the president the kind of guy that you want to have a beer with! In the area between the exhibit halls is a fantastic video show that runs along the tops of the walls. Absolutely awesome!

What was disappointing is how some of the seminal moments in his presidency are either glossed over or totally ignored. While 9/11 and the days immediately after are thoroughly covered, light mention is made of the of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan or how the economy took a nosedive. I realize that a few of us have the opportunity to rewrite history, but an honest look back on on your total performance is what a museum should have. LBJ's is surrounded by his Viet Nam debacle, Carter's deals extensively with the Iranian Hostage affair, Reagan has a substantial section on Iran Contra and Nixon's library let's you listen to the "tapes". This museum is all triumph and no challenges.

Also...where are all of the gifts from foreign dignitaries? There are 8 panels, representing the various regions of the world with about 6 gifts in each panel. By contract, "41", whom only served 4 years, had over a hundred displayed. Additionally, the museum is running an exhibit of Oscar de la Renta fashions? I realize that this was Laura's favorite designer, but it is ironic that a few of the pieces on display were worn by and belong to Hilary Clinton! This space could have better been used for more historically relevant information.

As a current resident of Texas... thank God for the LBJ and George H.W. Bush libraries and museums! Much better ways to spend a few hours

I had no idea what to expect in going to the library, I kind of thought there would be more books. But anyway it was still very interesting. I was Abel to touch a piece of steel from 9/11 that was very moving. The replica Oval Office was interesting. I found the family stuff the most entertaining. Worth a visit.

This is a very impressive library. Whether you love President Bush or not I highly recommend stopping through here to experience it. The visit will probably take 1.5 to 2 hours if you engage in the interactive activities. There is a 360 degree video screen in the main entrance which has an impressive display that immerses you. Also as noted there are interactive portions to the museum and a great story line of a President that is far from ever being forgotten.

The Bush library is a wonderful mix of history, politics, and humor. The 9-11 section was extremely moving. The family area, showing more of how the Bush's lived in the White House was charming and full of fun moments. I really felt like I got a sense of their home life. The library/museum ends with a call to action and talks about how the Bushes are serving the country to this day. A beautiful space, and enjoyed by the entire family.

Frankly we were disappointed. The content of George Herbert Walker Bush 41 in College Station was a lot better and he was in office only four years. This just seemed like a collection of media items and not serious information.
