I am in town on business. A colleague from Dallas joined me for drinks and dinner last night. He suggested Dunston's, where he has been dining weekly for over forty years.
This is my kind of place. It is reminds me of the steakhouse we used to go to when I was a kid in Oklahoma - warm, relaxed and inviting atmosphere, personable hostess and wait staff, and great food that is reasonably priced. I had two Beefeater martinis that were possibly the best I have ever had. We shared the roasted Brussels Sprout appetizer, which I could eat at every meal. We both had 10 oz. filets, rare and medium rare. They were done to perfection. Conversation was easy, as the noise level is low. I would ask the owners to keep doing what they're doing. Dining at Dunston's on Lovers Lane, for me, was like receiving a warm hug. I loved it, and I needed it. I will be back.
