“Expensive but food was average”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary by eating at the French Room. The restaurant setting is beautiful and romantic. The service was very attentive. The food was a bit disappointing for the price. Our tablecloth under the table had a large rip in it and my foot got tangled in the fabric. Also fruit flies buzzing around. I know those are hard to control, but I hate fruit flies while I am eating.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your kind compliments about the décor and service. We are very sorry, though, that you were disappointed with some other aspects of the restaurant. You can be certain that these have been addressed posthaste. The management and staff appreciate your letting us know.

Sincerely,

“The Only Worthwhile Fine Dining Experience in Dallas.”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

The French room is simply remarkable. It is a glamorous yet comfortable place to be. The room is always full of guests of all ages, though last time I was there, I noticed many of the younger set which was lovely. The service is outstanding. The food is simply divine. They change the menu just often enough. The Ahi Tuna appetizer on the menu now is to die for. From the handsome Maître D in the bow tie, to the gracious lady always with a sparkle in her shoe, the French Room is always an absolute treat. I look forward to my next visit.

“Fabulous”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

Based on reviews we read about the French Room we decided we really had to splurge and try it while we were staying at the Adolphus. We were not disappointed! It was probably the single most expensive dinner we have ever had, but it was worth every penny. The setting is simply gorgeous, the wait staff attentive without being intrusive, and the food.......ahhhhhh.....the food. Some of the very best restaurant food we have ever had. Don't miss the souffle for dessert - their signature dish and to die for!

I would highly recommend the French Room for anyone looking for an absolutely top notch, fine dining experience.

“19th Anniversary”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

First, Carlos was excellent. He talked to us about our marriage and his marriage....just very personable. The service was certainly 5 star.

The meal was excellent. However, we did have to question the crab cake. It was almost like gelatin. We will be going back to Lawry's for the best crab cakes. We also like Old Warsaw for some of the most awesome escargot which was not an option at the French Room.

Overall, service was absolutely 5 star, food selection was a tad more limited then we would have preferred. However, we would go back again for the excellent experience.

Thanks!!!!!

You are most welcome.

Carlos was so pleased to read that you are impressed with his service. This means so much to all of our staff.

Thank you for your gracious and constructive critique of the food. Rest assured, it was shared with our executive chef. The menu changes with the seasons.

We look forward to your next visit.

“Exquisite”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

It's formal, romantic and transports you to a more genteel time and place. The service, the food, it is all simply perfect. After a wonderful meal, they send you home with a tasty treat for breakfast. We've been several times and it is consistently good; I can't say that I have tasted everything on the menu; I can say that even in larger groups everyone is delighted. It's a rare gem of a restaurant for those who like to make an evening special.
