We stayed here for 2 nights in February and loved it! The hotel is set up on a bluff of sorts and so has great views of the Dallas skyline. The hotel itself is quirky and has a very retro motor court style feel. The old spanish buildings ramble around the fun southwestern style landscaped grounds. The atmosphere here is energetic and hip with lots of people (many who are not even staying at the hotel) showing up for the cool Bar Belmont and restaurant Smoke.

Our room was teriffic! We had a suite that was divided between a really cool sitting room with retro chairs, furniture, rugs, tile floor, and other touches. There was also a big flat screen TV mounted on the wall, a mini bar, and best of all nice big windows that looked right out to the Dallas skyline...really nice. The bedroom was large and had a great big, comfortable king size bed. There was more retro furniture and a TV. Best of all the bedroom contained a 2 person bathtub on a slightly raised platform surrounded by blue tile. This was great fun.
The bathroom was huge and the shower could have held 5 people.
Overall we were very pleased and excited with our room and view..couldn't have been better.

We did decide to take a night dip in the "heated" pool...it was February and the outside temp was around 38F +/-...it was cold. The pool is great and has nice waterfalls that you can stand under. The view of the skyline from the pool is incredible. The pool was not very heated, though being as cold as it was outside I am sure it is hard to heat a large pool to counter such cold temperatures outside. The waterfalls that you can stand under (while in the pool) however had nice warm water coming out....this is where I stood.

This place is great with a cool vibe, good bar and restaurant, and excellent views. Can't wait to come again.

Room Tip: All rooms look fun and unique. Try and get a room with a view of the skyline

Really enjoyed the retro ambiance of this hotel. The room was pleasant enough and quite large especially with the semi-enclosed porch. The bar had a lively crowd both nights I was there. Pool was very pleasant with a great view of downtown. Next door the Smoke BBQ had wonderful food. Convenient to Bishop St Arts District but a little far from many of the main attractions in The Big D.

I've stayed at the Belmont several times because I love the view, the rooms, the bar, and Smoke (the restaurant). The staff there was great and the pool area is very relaxing. This is a small boutique hotel with a big city feel. The view of Downtown Dallas from our loft room was simply amazing!

Room Tip: The loft rooms offer the best views of the downtown city lights.

My husband I had tickets to see Carrie Rodriquez at the Kessler and decided to spend the night at the Belmont, as I had wanted to stay there for so long. I booked a deluxe room with a king bed. I was hoping to get a room with a view, but I guess at the price, we were view denied. There was a lovely mesquite tree outside our window on the other side of the parking lot. You can only valet your car here because the paths to the rooms will not allow vehicles. They use golf carts to transport you if you have mobility problems. Our room was spacious with simple, but nice furnishings. The color scheme was soothing. It was very clean. I loved the sheets. I did sleep comfortably. Every one there was so nice. Great valet and Billy, thanks so much for your help. We will be back to stay again. Next time, I will book a room with a view.

Room Tip: If you want a room with a view, you might just call and talk to them about which one would be best f...

Hello & thanks for your note. We love the Kessler Theatre & always enjoy having other music lovers come and stay with us. We do have both valet and free parking and we apologize if that wasn't made clear. Most of our deluxe rooms have views but you're right, yours didn't have one of the best ones. Also give us a call next time you're here for a Kessler show and ask for the Kessler Patron rate - nice discount!!! Thanks again!

I arrived in Dallas in the middle of an unprecedented thunderstorm to find the Belmont was experiencing an area wide power outage. Despite the obvious issues staff were maintaining a sense of order and good humour which decided whether I stayed or not - I stayed prepared for a night camping in my room with candles. It was worth it. Power was back on a midnight. The Belmont has a great location, close to to Downtown but close to routes elsewhere. It is twinned with the Smoke Restaurant a few yards away which has some great BBQ style food. The North Bishop Avenue area of Oak Cliff is just a few minutes drive away with some lovely shops and restaurant.

Thanks for your note and for your adventuresome spirit! You are now a lifetime member of the Belmont's Power Outage Club - which will get you a 10% discount here for life. It's wasn't our dream day but in the end we were reminded of the awesome people who visit us at the Belmont. We are glad you liked Smoke and our neighborhood which just gets better and better. Hope to see you soon.

This is a real motor court motel that has been well preserved for younger generations. The rooms are SPARSE, remember it is an old, small, no frills, motel (not hotel). Bathroom is functional but with no counter space. Our deluxe room #53 had the best panoramic view of downtown Dallas. The "deluxe" part was that the adjoining carport is an outdoor seating area but there is only a high & small opening to the scenic overlook that you can't even see if actually seated. The best view is from inside the room at night that includes the colorful flashing Omni Hotel & Reunion Tower all the way across the lights of downtown. Unfortunately the view from the bar is now partially obscured by an apartment complex & farmer's market called Sylvan Thirty under construction that once occupied & all lit up will ruin the view even more. Parking is also sparsely available so $15 daily valet is really the only option unless you want to walk between the Belmont restaurant Smoke & the rooms. If you have time to spend in the room enjoying the view, I highly recommend this as an alternative to a fancier downtown hotel.

Room Tip: #53 has a great panoramic view of downtown Dallas.

Thanks for your comments. Our view has definitely changed! We've still got a slice of a downtown view from the BarBelmont patio and the rooms w/views and the pool views are still intact. The original name of the property was Belmont Hotel and we took that back when we opened but we think of ourselves as a motor court too. We hope you'll come and visit again - maybe try a junior suite for more room next time.

Awesome place to stay! Stayed here for my 30th bday for 2 nights while during the NCAA weekend! Had a blast! Went to the gym down the hill and ate every meal at Smoke! Loved it!! We took Uber everywhere while in the city, so we didn't have to drive anywhere. Cant wait to come back!

Room Tip: Stayed in room 57! Our balcony had an awesome view of downtown!!
