“excellent hotel worth the extra, use the house car”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

we only stayed one night but wished we had longer. the rooms were large and comfortable especially the bed. we upgraded for club lounge access and that was a good experience Megan was very helpful as were all of the staff. we used the house car - a very nice Bentley, to visit the Kennedy museum don't miss out on this benefit if you stay. Dinner in Fearings was good but be aware the portions are Texan you may want to share.

Room Tip: go for a high floor corner room

Great place. Reasonably convenient to everything in downtown Dallas. Great service. Every time you turn around the staff is there asking to help. They escorted me from the registration desk to the elevator. Valet services were fast and friendly. I wish I could have stayed more than one night. Plan to attend the guest happy hour at 6pm. Although this is a much better hotel than those nearby it is often less expensive. Watch for specials. I paid $247 before taxes.

We visited for a good friend's 50th birthday party and had another stay with nothing but impeccable service. The Ritz always makes a fantastic effort to make us feel comfortable and at home.

Upon checking in early, we visited the spa for a deep tissue massage.
Elke was fantastic. I have to say that I had the best massage of my life.
The spa left nothing to be desired and I look forward to a return visit. I wish I lived closer!

We then dined poolside for lunch and again, a great experience (thanks Juan!). The food was delivered quickly and was lovely.

After a rest we then used the house car - we had very fast and friendly service from our driver, Justin- we didn't have to wait more than a few minutes.

Even though our stay was brief, it was memorable.
The staff at the Ritz treat us all as if we are in their home. The warmth and attentiveness is truly unmatched.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are always fantastic here-

Not the greatest location, but a fine hotel. Well appointed lobby and extremely comfortable suites. The staff is attentive and professional. They pay great attention to detail, which is to be expected at this price level, but not always experienced elsewhere.
The cocktail hour offerings in the lobby could be a bit more elaborate. One offering was a sip of margarita and a taste of guacamole, presented in a very quick "done & run" fashion

This was our second weekend on the club level at the Dallas Ritz. It was a far cry from last year on the club level! Last year, the lady that ran the club level was awesome and the offerings were fantastic.

Not this time.

Our room, while very nice and comfortable, did not have soap, shampoo, or any bathroom amenities when we arrived. We called downstairs and one bar of soap was delivered. The next morning the housekeepers serviced the room quickly and supplied us with bathroom amenities.

The club lounge was not at all what we experienced last year. Dishes sat on tables for 30 minutes+, and other than Veronica at Saturday breakfast, no one was working the room regularly. There were lots of crumbs and food all over the floor, tired and soiled furniture, and not one single hot horderve or hot food offering (except for Sat morning oatmeal) all weekend. Very disappointing. Not at ALL the level of food offerings and service we have experienced at either the Dallas Rtiz club level or any other Ritz club levels where we have stayed.

When we arrived Friday afternoon, there was 2 women with 2 little children in the club lounge. The little boy, who looked around 3 years old, was jumping up and down on the upholstered furniture, screaming, yelling, and throwing food. We finally left the lounge as it was too loud, as did a few other clearly annoyed guests. The next day one of the girls who works in the lounge said, "That was my boss's kids and his mom who was visiting from out of town. He brings them up here a lot, so I really couldn't say anything. I'm sorry they were so loud." Clearly, if that child belongs to the "boss" that may explain the mess in the lounge and the lack of attention to guests and guest rooms on the club level.

The rest of the hotel is fabulous, so I would recommend NOT staying on the club level at this particular Ritz. This morning the coffee machine was not operating because it was out of water. Finally, I found someone who worked there to refill it. The girl in charge, (who is sweet but is not cut out for this type of job at all) made one pass through the lounge and finally picked up dirty dishes sitting around.
Breakfast was (other than Saturday oatmeal) bagels, cream cheese, muffins, yogurt parfaits, fruit and cheese. Nothing more than you'd get at a Comfort Inn - for free!
Afternoon horderves were cheese and crackers, leftover cold items from the day before. Nothing hot, or even appealing. The girl in charge didn't even put out the food labels. She seemed to spend a lot of time in the back instead of interacting with guests and making sure everyone was satisfied with the extra amount of money they were paying to stay on the club level.
The Dallas Ritz is pretty and in a great location. We will opt for a different hotel next time. If you're curious about how awesome our experience there was last year, please read my review from 2013. That was Day, this past weekend was Night. Night and Day difference.

The biggest kudos go to the guys in Valet. Issac greeted us on arrival, and was a tremendous first impression - great!! As we were leaving, Jared asked if we wanted waters. The guy literally ran to get two bottles of water for us - he was so interested in leaving us with a good impression. Too bad whoever is now running the club level is clearly asleep on the job. (Ritz, move Jared or Issac upstairs to run the club level - they get it!)

Room Tip: Do not stay on the club level - it's not a typical Ritz club level experience anymore.

This is our 3rd time to the Ritz Carlton, Dallas. From the moment you drive in you are cared for and the staff is so kind and has an unbelievable memory. The Doorman, Didi, called us by name, gave us a warm greeting and said how glad he was to see us. That man, makes the Ritz home to us. Everyone is so kind and friendly, but Didi is the ultimate.
We enjoy so many things about this hotel, the quiet, the pool, the food, the bar and its outdoor fireplace, the funny bartenders and the staff is so helpful and sweet. The ideal item of this hotel is the closeness to every place you want to be. From buying boots to a walk on the Katy Trail, which is paved and so great for walking, running, biking, strolling or lunching. This is the place to stay.
We love all the little extra's on the concierge level as well as Didi taking care of us for suggesting places for our evenings out. This is a very special place for us and we will continue to return. Thank you Didi and the staff of the Ritz!

Room Tip: All views are of the city skyline. It is all good.

Two friends and I met in Dallas for a spa weekend at the Ritz. What a great choice! Our weekend started with cocktails in the lobby bar with complimentary margaritas and chips with guacamole. The room was nicely decorated, but nothing special. The beds were very comfortable and the black-out shades allowed us to sleep in.

The next morning we visited the spa, which was a slice of Heaven! The spa attendant was very knowledgeable and welcoming. The whirlpool and steam rooms prior to our massages were a fabulous surprise. My massage therapist, Aryn, set the bar for a great massage. It was perfectly timed and exactly the deep tissue work I needed. Those massage tables were the most comfortable I've ever experienced. After our massages, we were offered champagne and continued our relaxation in the commons area. Again, the spa is a must-do at this property.

We ordered room service for breakfast two mornings and ordered late-night food after we came up from the lobby bar. The service was quick and the food was great.

We also used the Bentley service car to return us to the hotel after an appointment. Great service!

Overall, the Ritz Dallas was a great choice for 3 friends looking for a fabulous weekend of being pampered!
