I can understand using cornmeal to coat catfish as the fish can have a strong flavor sometimes but oysters? It ruins them. My twelve fried oysters were served extremely fast, about four minutes after I ordered them in this otherwise empty restaurant on a Monday evening. They were extremely small and with the cornmeal batter completely tasteless. The proper way to fry oysters is to use a seasoned flour batter which is lighter and preserves the flavor.
The coleslaw was obviously freshly made and pretty good but the fries were institutional frozen. Hey, use fresh potatoes and make your own! It's cheaper and they taste better!
Service was good and the place was spotless, with a very nice patio out front.
I'll drive past this place, not planning a return visit.
