Only complaints here were the bed being hard as a board and the breakfast being awful. Loved the hotel and location just wish the breakfast had been edible and the bed a little softer. Otherwise it was great! Staff was very kind and answered a lot of questions for us without seeming to be bothered. The location is very convenient and really enjoyed our stay.

Our family stayed for a night while passing through town. We were so comfortable we wanted to stay another day. Very clean, very friendly, great breakfast, lots of extras for the price. The only thing keeping us from giving a full 5 rating was the pool, it was a little cool for the kids, but the Jacuzzi was perfect!

We had booked this hotel on our road trip back to Canada. Unfortunately we were delayed because of weather, road closures & accidents. I realize that there is 24 hour cancellation policy but when the cause is beyond your control to keep you from arriving I don't think a fee should be charged. We felt we had called far enough in advance that the room could have been re-rented no problem. We contacted BW customer service (she was very helpful) but was unable to convince the manager not to charge us. We also called directly to the hotel, they were rude and hung up before the conversation was done. We would not recommend this hotel on this basis but did not actually stay there. We have stayed at many BW hotels and have been very happy, this one unfortunately did not have great customer service.

We stayed here again and this time the service was great as last time, it was just the breakfast. The breakfast was not as good as last time, it tasted processed. The hotel room was beautiful like last time. I certainly recommend staying here.

Positives: Nice decor and finishes, comfortable hospitality
Negatives: Several small things that added up

I have a long and generally pleasant history with Best Western hotels. My parents usually chose Best Western properties when we took family vacations. My wife and I have stayed many nights with them, and my children are now customers. Across the years accommodations varied but we have usually been happy with their properties.

We stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago and liked it enough to return recently for a couple of nights, in connection with a meeting in the area. Overall, our most recent experience was good but we noticed a few differences, some a result of the location of our room. We also noted a few areas that could be improved quite easily.

Accommodations and fixtures -

Compared with Best Western hotels of my youth, this is an upscale facility. Public areas and rooms are nicely appointed, with contemporary colors, complementary textures, attractive finishes and bold artwork.

We really appreciate the amount of space allocated to king suites in this hotel. They are larger than most competitor's properties, and are comfortably arranged. Within the past half-year we've stayed at hotels where clearances are so tight the hotel's own luggage cart can't be rolled into the room. That's not a problem here.

Room furnishings are comparable with other mid-level hotels, a bit better than most. King suites here contain a large cabinet that hides a mini-fridge and microwave as it provides personal storage.

Beds are very comfortable. They stand higher off the floor than in competing properties. The effect is elegant but climbing onto the mattress requires more effort than at most places. We are average height but felt as if we were climbing into a truck when going to bed.

Bathrooms are also elegant, but not particularly functional. They're equipped with a table-style vanity that offers little counter space. Towels are stored on a shelf under the sink. No towel racks or clothing hooks were provided, so we put extra items on the back of the toilet...not our favorite place but the best option.

Ventilation was a bigger problem. A small vent was cut into the ceiling but it didn't seem to function. The room became a sauna during showers. The mirror fogged, moisture pooled on toiletries, and clothing wilted. The moisture problem was particularly noticeable with the bathroom door closed, but it was a problem even with the door open.

Poor ventilation was a nuisance to us, but we saw evidence of more serious problems. The shower stall had a bit of mold in corners, and the door stop had rusted.

Last time / this time -

During our previous visit, we were given our preference: a first-floor room. This time we were assigned a room on the third floor. (I'm not sure why our request was not honored this time. They didn't seem to be *that* busy.) We weren't happy but decided to take the top-floor room just to see what it was like.

Moving our gear took a lot of time. Four trips were required because no luggage cart was available.

After settling in, we took stock of the place. Our first impression was how bright it was compared to the first floor. Our next impression was how cool the room was. We adjusted the thermostat in hopes of making the temperature more comfortable.

After a while be began to notice road noise on nearby US 69. Growling trucks were particularly audible. During our previous stay we were not only on the first floor, but on the east side of the building, away from the road. This time, we were much higher and near the west end of the building, with a view of the highway.

Room temperature did moderate overnight, but became uncomfortable the second day when a cold front moved through north Texas. We had trouble adjusting the temperature. Despite our best efforts, the place remained cool. Eventually, my wife noticed the wall-mounted HVAC unit was not completely seated in its housing. We could see daylight through the resulting gap. A technician repaired the problem, and we were able to control the temperature easily. However, road noise continued at the same level.

Housekeeping -

Aside from the little bit of mold and rust seen in the bathroom, our suite was spotless and well-stocked. Room amenities, from coffee to toiletries, were high-quality.

The front lobby, elevators, and dining area were well-maintained. However, we noticed a fair amount of debris in hallways: bits of paper, small pieces of plastic wrapping, and plant matter were visible the entire length of the third-floor hall. This clutter was not removed during our stay.

Service -

Staff members are extremely pleasant, almost giddy, when near a customer. Even the housekeepers smiled broadly when met in the elevator or hallway. They were very pleasant to be around.

Breakfast -

We missed breakfast the first morning because service stopped at 9:00 a.m....earlier than at other hotels we visited during the same trip. We were just ahead of the posted closing time the second morning.

Foods seemed a bit better than we recall from our first stay, but they are pretty typical of hotels these days. To their credit, options included eggs, sausage, breads, cereals and waffles. (Some places do not serve protein.)

The Bottom Line -

We've stayed at this hotel twice, and won't hesitate to stay again. The style, service, comfort and value far outweigh the problems we noticed. However, we will strongly request a room away from the highway, preferably one on the ground floor, when making reservations in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the east side of the building, preferably on the first floor.

I like the entire stay at the hotel. All the same I also like the place s to eat around there. I ate at the Rig Restraunt and it was awesome. The hotel staff was great and my room was clean. The rooms were very clean. It was a great and restful visit.

Beautiful hotel with all the amenities. Only thing that would have made it better would be softer toilet paper. I have sent in this rec. so hopefully this will be fixed. Otherwise, next time I'll bring my own.
