If you enjoy the unique experiences of bed & breakfasts, this place is the best place to stay in Denton. You will enjoy the accommodation and service that reflects a fresh enthusiasm of the owner and staff. They deliver up-to-date comfort without compromising the original composure of such historic houses. The furniture and other details are delightfully matched to the house itself.

Be sure to enjoy a walk to the square around the county courthouse. Also, the restaurant next door (Giuseppi's) is also among the best in Denton.

The owners make sure you are taken care of from the time you arrive to the time you leave. It was quiet. I spend one evening reading down in the parlor. The restaurant next door is to die for and the location is close to the courthouse square, which has tons of antique shops and such. I'm not a huge B & B fan, but this was nice. Not super romantic, as the walls aren't very soundproof, but fine for a girls weekend or solo trip.

We stayed in the Regency Suite (Pecan House).

Regency suite is adjacent to Locust Street on the second-floor.

King-size bed elevated fairly high off the ground (they provide a step-stool).

They now have a 3-pane privacy screen in the Regency Suite which can be moved around to provide privacy when you're in the hot-tub.

We had a very relaxing weekend. Breakfast was very good.

John, Donna & Carol are very polite and accommodating. However, when our room was cleaned...

* Our used coffee cups were left in the room
* Our coffee carafe was left filled with old coffee
* New coffee was not provided
* Our bed was made... but very poorly

We were rather surprised at this service or lack-there-of... no idea as to who was actually responsible for cleaning our room. But it genuinely surprised us... seeing that John, Donna & Carol were so very nice and accommodating in-person.

FYI: John & Donna are in the process of selling the Heritage Inns.

Room Tip: You can hear cars driving by easily... so if you're looking for a "quiet" place to sta...

My husband and I stayed at the Heritage Inn in the Magnolia House while on a road trip thru the USA. We had a lovely large bedroom with a huge sitting room which was filled with antiques. We were worried about parking our large truck and horse trailer but Donna and John were very accomodating and very helpful with points of interest around Denton. Supper downstairs in Guieseppes (?) was very good and not too overpriced. Breakfast was great...eggs benny one day, my favourite. The only negative was I found the bathroom to be very shabby, chips in the sink, the shower did not even have a shower head and it was very difficult to adjust the water for the tub/shower. It was either scalding hot or no hot water at all. It was very difficult to get in the shower as the shower curtain only opens at the far end....might just be me but not very relaxing. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I would probably return

It's an interesting place. We stayed during Christmas. We had a room with a jacuzzi. It was weird. The bathroom was open with no walls to the bedroom. All one big room. To watch your partner on the toilet. Ouch. The jacuzzi was also the shower and tub. But it had no ring curtain so you showered by sitting in the tub. Again in front of your partner. Oh what mystery! All of this in a very very very old house. Which the owners will take great pride in explaining.

They serve up an OK breakfast. Very much on the stingy side. We wanted a heaping helping of their special, magical pancakes. We got only 2. We asked more. They took 15 minutes to make 1.

But they are nice people. The place was very clean. The Christmas decorations came down exactly on the 26th. No extra enjoyment there. Also if you want to listen in on your neighbor's conversations, the walls are paper thin so it's not a problem for the nosey at heart.

Kind of a lot of money for the accomodations. Strange but interesting in Denton.

We fled to Denton when Hurricane Ike headed our way. Our daughter kept our dogs at her home in Denton and we decided to give a B & B a try...our first experience with a B & B. We stayed at The Heritage Inns Pecan House in Grandma's room. The staff were friendly, thoughtful and did everything to make our stay comfortable. We were served a filling and yummy breakfast at our requested time and they thoughtfully served my husband food that fit his diabetic needs. The bed was comfortable, the room was large and the bathroom was very roomy and had the best stand up shower. The owners arrived back home from their trip our second day so we were treated to another warm welcome by the friendliest of Innkeepers.

To be fair, although we enjoyed our stay, there were a few small draw backs. Because of my severe asthma, I had to air the room and place cut up lemons around to calm the "antique" odor. These are beautiful, but older homes with antique furniture. The bathroom did not have a door, just a curtain, so I felt a bit exposed but keeping the window blinds shut helped. The homes have beautiful wood floors so the noise from other guests walking around the kitchen (right next to Grandma’s Room) and up and down the stairs was noticeable. If you are a lite sleeper, choose one of the upstairs rooms.

The Heritage Inns Cluster is definitely a wonderful place to experience if you are tired of the commercial hotels in Denton and want to be treated to a truly unique and friendly atmosphere in which to relax. All things considered…four thumbs up!

My wife and I were married in the backyard gazeebo at the Redbud inn, which was John and Donna's first B&B, back before they expanded to create the Heritage Inns cluster, and we have been back several times since for romantic getaways. I can't say enough about how wonderful John and Donna are as more than just innkeepers. They truly treat each of their guests like family, going out of their way to be accommodating. We have always found the rooms clean and beautifully furnished with many gorgeous antiques and newer furniture as well. The four-poster beds are amazing! We live in the Denton area and the Heritage Inns has been our choice for romantic getaways for the last 13 years. We have also put our own relatives up there when we've had out of town visitors and they have commented about John and Donna's incredible hospitality.

As for the "Breakfast" part of Bed and Breakfast, I've never had a breakfast there that I didn't like and the double chocolate banana muffins are out of this world!

Thank you, John and Donna for everything! Keep up the great work!
