“Mildred Pierce comes to Dripping Springs”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2011

If you've seen the HBO series, "Mildred Pierce," then you might remember that the main character launches a restaurant that features chicken and waffles, a food combination that scores with customers.

Well, Dripping Springs has its own version of Mildred Pierce in Jana (and Chris) who are cooking up mouth-watering, double-moist chicken breast encrusted with a snappy, savory batter that's not the typical Southern-fried shell. And the waffles are a pleasant counterpoint balancing sweet and savory. The bourbon-flavored syrup is decadently rich.

And the brownie that we took home was hot from the oven -- moist and delicious.

Patronize this wonderful out of the way spot for a rare treat.

“Wow! Don't Miss This Place.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 April 2011

Four of us visited the Goodnight Diner for dinner. First off, forget about the diner in the name. The food here is much too good and much to creative to be standard diner fare.
THese are the dishes we ordered:
Appetizers - Pork and Potato Perogies were the one thing we would not order again. Doughy and not exciting. The Panko Breaded Eggplant was a hit.
Roasted Beet Salad with Lemon/Dill was delicious. We substituted Pecorino for the Goat Cheese
All of the entress were prepared perfectly and were all excellent. I broke my rule about eating fried foods and ordered theSriracha Fried Chicken and I'm sure glad I did. It was super crunchy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. It doesn't get any better than this.
The Smothered Pork and The Steelhead Trout were also amazingly delicious. Prices were ridiculously low and at this time its BYOB no corkage. This little restaurant in Drippin' could hold its own anywhere in Texas. Don't forget desert its also to notch.
GO NOW you won't be sorry.
