“Our experience did not match the low reviews.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014 via mobile

We needed a stop-over room on the way to Ruidosa. We only stayed here because we had reserved the Deluxe Inn (based on Trip Advisor reviews of 4), only to find it was scary, and rooms were smelly and tiny. We would not stay there.
The Atrium was at the intersection of all the major roadways, so we stopped there. After checking out of the Atrium this morning, I looked at the reviews and was surprised how low they were.
Our room was clean and looked like it had been renovated. The flat screen TV was huge and mounted on a swivel. There was a refrigerator and microwave and a low credenza for luggage. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The free breakfast included waffles and all the usual items.
We did not tour the rest of the facility since we arrived late and left early. Based on our experience, I would recommend this room.

Drove into Fort Stockton late, around 10pm with the family. Made a hasty choice on hotels, and picked this one w/o researching Trip Advisor first. Big mistake since I just read that it rates 15 out of 15 among hotels their. In short, everything was very dirty and poorly managed! Found dead roach and urine on floor of bathroom last night. Then this morning there were cigarette butts and a bear can on the deck over looking the atrium overlooking the actually very nice pool, surrounded by a variety of tropical plants and trees. As I was looking at the pool, a staff cleaning person walked by with his cart while smoking a cigarette- which explains the previous review that talks about how they smelled smoke in the atrium area. Another staff janitor was outside in the front, a few doors down, texting on their her phone, which she continued to do for several minutes, obviously not wanting to clean. All in all, very poorly managed by current lax staff. Only charge $80 for a room, thus in this instance, you get what you pay for. If you are a savvy businessman, then this a great opportunity for you- upgrade current staff, clean the place up-easily done-, and take advantage of that spectacular atrium with pool and fresh tropical plants, then charge $150 per room- easy. Good luck and for hygiene's sake, might want to move on to the next hotel down the road.

Room Tip: Choose somewhere else!

Absolutely disgusting.... Changed rooms twice and it never got any better. Floors are gross, rooms are all half finished... Pool was clean but the Atrium always smelled like smoke after people started getting home from work. Maids only work on Mondays and Fridays..or whenever they felt like it. Had to vacuum my own room many times and exchange stuff off their carts for new (who knows where they always were). "The laundry facility" is 3 broken dryers (the bottom left works if you're willing to try it) and one washer. The "breakfast" is cold coffee, old muffins, and waffles... There's cereal and fruit and stuff too. But be there by 8 or the front desk lady watching her movie on her laptop couldn't care less about your hot coffee. Only 5-8 channels depending on if you're bilingual (but I hear that they're "Looking into getting more"..... The atrium was so pretty in the pictures but the used condom behind my bed sealed the deal for me...... ZERO STARS... ZERO RECOMMENDATIONS.. SAVE YOURSELVES!

Room Tip: Choose a different hotel..... But if you wanna try it get make sure you ask to see the room first.

Had no choice but to stay here due to all other hotels being full due to Spring break travelers. Room was disgusting. There were hairs all over the bathroom floor, bathtub was brown from lack of proper cleaning, mattresses were stained, drapes hanging off their hooks, carpet was dirty. The face cloths that are supposed to be white were a dirty white, looked like they're not even laundered. Even the coffee packet and sugar packets were stained. Needless to say, did not make coffee that morning. And to top it off, room is NOT cheap at $90 a night! For what you pay, you would expect a far, far better and cleaner room! You would think that management would take some pride in keeping up this place, especially after reading all of these horrible reviews. (Do they even bother to read these reviews???) Obviously, they don't care! C'mon, management, take some responsibility and do your job!

Room Tip: Pass this one if at all possible.

This place is a dump. The beds are old and stained, bedding seems to be from the 80's, an ashtray in our NON smoking room. Has a funny smell almost like it's had been smoked in receipts from people that previously stayed here so you know it was not well cleaned, dirt in the corner of the tub by the floor, TV cables hanging down the wall, and I am scared to take my shoes off and walk on the carpet (typing this as I sit in the room)

I really can't add much to the rest of these reviews, this place SUCKED!!! The room was barely habitable. The cables from the TV stuck out from the wall and there was a very severe risk of tripping on them in the dark. There was an ASHTRAY in our NON-SMOKING room. The pool area was dirty with towels and toys scattered all over the place. The Jacuzzi had about six inches of water over an inch of dirt on the bottom. The beds looked like they were left over from the Salvation Army store. The bedding was old and stained. The room cost $90.00, but everything else was filled. There was a weird vibration coming thru the floor all night long. I would sleep in my car or in the ditch in the rain or snow rather than stay there again. Avoid this place!!!

We took a chance on this hotel while driving cross country...bad idea. The place is a wreck and should be condemned. Water doesn't work at the small coffee sink, main light and fan don't work, only a few channels come in on tv and are blurry, pool is a dump, jacuzzi broke, sauna broke, gym is a rotting rust bucket with broke equipment. Room was supposed to be non smoking but smells like smoke with an ashtray in it, fixture coverings missing from bathroom light and fan, bathroom door hits toilet when opening/closing. They also scanned and copied my drivers license and credit card into their computer system...have to put a fraud alert on my credit now. Would not recommend this place, stay at one of the national chains instead in this town.
