Visiting the Amon Carter Museum again after several years I was pleasantly surprised by the broader scope of the collection into American art in addition to their traditional core collection of western art. Currently (November 2017), there is an impressive exhibit which portrays hunting, fishing and other outdoor themes. The facility is beautiful and the presentation of artwork very professionally and creatively arranged. The Amon Carter is often overshadowed by the neighboring Kimball, but it is well worth a visit on its own.

Enjoyed visiting this art museum with it’s American Artist emphasis!! Parking across the road is for a $10.00 fee.

Very comprehensive collection of American Artists covering many genres!!

New building is delightful!! Make sure you visit the alcoves or you will miss Remington and Russel works!!

Nice building, great collection of 'cowboy' scenes - ie plenty of Remingtons and Russell's. A couple of Georgia O'Keefe's.
Free to enter.
Best to park (for free) outside nearby Kimbell Art Museum or in the car park of the Modern Art Museum.
Fans of the 'pioneer experience' should consider a visit to the Log Cabin Village which is opposite the zoo (2 miles south).

The museum is packed with a variety of art styles. Each room has a large print and a dyslexic tour guide. This is a wonderful museum. I enjoyed seeing the enthusiasm of the student tours. The museum's tour guides had the students enthralled and engaged without interrupting the other museum guests.

On a weekday during the summer (July), my wife and I took a day to explore Fort Worth. The Kimball Art Museum was one of our stops. It was an enjoyable visit, but not the best art museum that we have visited. The exhibit on display with the Polaroid pictures was intriguing and interesting, but there were times when the overall layout and displays were a bit disjointed. Though we enjoyed the art on display, a bit more context and information would have been appreciated. We would probably go again, if we found ourselves in the area ... but, there are other museums and exhibits in the area that we will visit before we go back.
